Has anyone else received spam from Stop-Republicans?

Holy crap, I hope these are only getting sent to people who vote Democrats, because they basically work as a Republican advertisement. The latest one literally starts with "DEMOCRATS CALL FOR DEFUNDING THE POLICE"

Oh South Asians are definitely perceived as Muslim. That said personally I am not that conspicuously Muslim in appearance. The lighter South Asians can sometimes get away without being noticed too much but if you're dark skinned you get perceived as Muslim.

I don’t know what neighborhood you grew up in but I suspect it was majority middle class and Latino. If you grew up in a neighborhood that actually has white people, it was upscale and not full of rednecks.

As much as people like to point out Latino racism, in my experience, it is not nearly as bad as what I’ve experienced with white and black people.

That said Yes I won't deny that my post 9/11 experience was perhaps not representative of most Muslims. Actually now that I think about it my older brother did tell me he faced backlash so even among my family its not entirely representative. I guess I was lucky. Overall I think America's Islamophobia is exaggerated though

Interesting. I guess I always just imputed my own impressions to others....since, to me, darker skinned South Asian people tend to have the facial characteristics that I think of as prototypically "Indian." Like Vijay Singh, Kal Pen, Aziz Ansari, or Dinesh D'Souza (sorry). Whereas lighter skinned South Asian people seem to me to tend to have more Caucasian facial characteristics...which then makes them seem less Indian and therefore more likely to be Muslim

Americans are often prejudice in the abstract, we don’t want Muslims coming to this country and yet we will befriend or be just be generally nice to Muslim people we meet.

People have ideological dispositions that will make them reject what I just said but if you look at places in the Midwest like Minnesota, Iowa, and the Dakota’s in the heart of America, they’ve been taking in refugees for a long time with open arms. Not to mention large influxes of regular immigration.
 
Guys I’m starting to think my mind is loosing it, I spilled tomato soup on my self to day and it wiped right off my baby blue top with out any trace of it.........and I wasn’t fast at wiping it as I has to go soak my napkin in cold water first.

Hate to be a creep but I love baby blue on a woman, I bet you have the kind of fashion sense I'd like. Hope the top is okay in the end and there isn't a stain you missed.

There’s literally nothing there. I was so mad, and thought I’d ruined my top, and it’s fine.

I agree though, I don't think I no anyway that is what you call an Islamophobia. They're definitely out there, just haven't seen many myself.

Yeah I think that's generally true. I actually have a friend who is a bit of a redneck, his dad much more so. He tells me one time he was with his dad as he watching TV and he made a negative comment about Muslims and my friend said something like "What about KK?" and his dad responded "He's different!"
