I have to admire their resilience and courage. The Americans bombed them, sprayed dangerous chemicals, committed numerous war crimes against civilian women and children yet the Vietnamese never gave up. They fought and kicked the invaders off their homeland.

The Americans had advanced weapons, air power, chemical weapons and backed by a large industry and economy. The Vietnamese fighters were village peasants and farmers armed with small fire arms and some primitive booby traps and explosives, and a rice bowl. They shouldn’t have won but they did against all odds.

Tough people for sure. My dad was a bouncer who had Vietnamese friends, said they were some of the best people to have at your side when shit kicked off.

Oh man. Vietnamese are no joke. Those fuckers get crazy at the drop of a hat. My Vietnamese friends who actually aren’t involved with anything have all kinds of stories. One time they were in a park smoking some blunts and a bunch of other Vietnamese guys came up to them and started a brawl. Extendos, knives you name it. One of my white buddies happened to be there at the time and got slashed really nice on his right tricep, big scar there still. My buddies actually won the fight and right after the aggressors realized it was a case of mistaken identity and everyone sort of Laughed it off like nothing.

There was also a time me and my Ethiopian buddy were meeting with some Vietnamese to buy weed and someone’s mentions this guy in the back wants to meet with us. I thought for sure we were getting kidnapped. So I go to the back and there is this geriatric Vietnamese man smoking a cigarette and he has pictures laid out all over a coffee table of other old looking asian men. He says “you and your friend like extra money” I just stare at him and try to be respectful without saying a word. He then says while pointing at one of the pictures of an asian man “you see dis man, I needa him hurt very very badly”

I remember thinking about it at the time and then realizing there was no way in hell I was going to Have anything to do with this however large the pay out could be. We just politely declined and went back to looking at the aforementioned goods.

I would've taken his offer. Beat up old men and get paid for it?

The Census unintentionally triggers people on gender.

Say you fill out an online form or a paper form, and you're Bob Johnson. After you write that you're Bob Johnson, you have to fill out a bubble that says whether you're male or female. You think nothing of this.

When you don't do your census and people have to come around to do it door-to-door, it's the same. You tell the census person that you are Bob Johnson, and then the census person has to ask you if you are male or female.

Then, approximately 100% of the time, the respondent makes some variant on an obvious joke, or eye-rolling-ly condemns the way things are today.

But it's no different from filling out your form. It's the context of having a person (from the government no less) ask about your sex in person, when it should be obvious.

It's completely fake news but it still triggers people.

defending is usually easier than attacking

I have 2 144fps 1440p monitors, and every game I play recommends me max. So of course I go with it because big pp. And then it's like 40 fps. I've been playing at 144 for so long that anything under 60 is pure AIDS. At this rate, i'm going to have to chunk everything but the case.

I have one 1440p 144hz curved monitor for gaming (shooters/racing games) and one 4k 60hz monitor for movies/shows and benchmark games.

It's glorious, and I have no trouble pushing frames.

The difference is in the case of filling out the form, the person handling it afterward may never set eyes on you but the person asking you has the evidence of their own eyes. For cases where it may seem obvious, perhaps the question would be better reworded to something like, "May I presume your sex and gender based upon your appearance?" But then, of course, having no idea why the question is worded that way, other people might be offended at the presumption.

All in all, it's people who get triggered over separating the discussion of gender from that of sex. Fuck'em.

That’s because anyone who actually answers when someone rings their doorbell is just looking for trouble.

Funny, my wife made a similar comment not that long ago after a little (as in barely notable) incident at a 4-way stop showed me evidence of that.
