Why do american cops arrest 8 year olds?
As a cop for over 10 years I’ve never seen it done before that video.

Some places are just clearly insane though. I read that a 6 year old was arrested in Georgia in 2012 for simple battery and criminal property damage. It’s unfathomable. I knew some states were backwards but not this bad.

I was looking into the “school to prison pipeline” and was shocked at how some places operate.

I think it's important to keep reminding ourselves that it's still Trump. Trump. The guy that, without exaggerating, has the intellect of a 14 year old, the maturity of a 6 year old, and the honesty of a dumpster raccoon.

And he's getting 40 PERCENT of the vote nationwide.

Please see my post just above this.

Regardless, it's a petty distinction without a difference that he should be publicly villified for by anyone who claims to disavow identify politics.

I personally don't think that this historic first is a celebratory occasion because it should have happened a long time ago.

In a place that thinks of itself as the land of the free and the best country on earth its people sure set the bar awfully fucking low.

If the people really believed in those great documents, the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, as much as they say they do, particularly "those" conservatives that get behind the Bundy family, for example, then ongoing systematic abuse of women, people of color, the poor, to name only a few, would be a national shame. If the political and social will expended to combat equality were used to promote it instead, all this would be old hat.

Fucking hypocrites, every one of the those "constitutionalist" Trump fluffers.

you'll get no argument from me on that one.

Tim Pool also wants to talk to me about how picking Kamala Harris guarantees a Trump landslide.

By that same token, some have almost ripped any teeth out of the juvenile criminal statutes.

Utah you can't send a kid to Secure Care, which is basically kid "prison" for more than 6 months unless they liked kill someone. Oh, they raped some victim at knife point? 4-8 months Secure Care. They robbed a 7.11 at gun point 4-5 times and have been to Secure Care twice already? 6-12 months.

Hell, we can't even properly get kids certified to be tried as adults in the Utah system now unless they do some real heinous shit like murder and then they chopped up the body.

I get we don't want to institutionalize kids... but there are straight some where... they don't need to be cause they grew up in the gang lifestyle and no matter what we do that's where they are.

donnie rage tweeted at bill maher after watching this, my favourite line.." remember when you saw melania for the first time and said those 3 little words....add to cart..."

I'm all about BiMala now since it's all we got, but Peggy stays killing me

So, how about agitating for special treatment of gang-related cases?

Our office has tried but Utah right now (and our head prosecutor is involved in this push) is trying to modernize some of it's sentencing guidelines to offer more alternatives and shit the way that like Washington does.

The only issue is for some reason out here the "think of the chirren" types got out in front and the juvenile system got fucking gutted without a second thought.

I have legitimately written up PC statements and gotten charges ready for say an instance of a kid getting Armed Robbery, Agg Assault with a Weapon, Assault on a LEO, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm...

Kid was out on some sort of release condition and doing beer runs three days later. It's rough.

I was hoping you would move your knight which also would have lost your queen. There were a lot of subtle ideas in that position. Forbidden pieces and pieces ''pinned'' to squares.

No d4 pawn for you.

fuck it...

reserved isn't my style...let's blow this game wide open.

That's about the same percentage of the country that believes in creationism (Gallup's definition: "God created humans in present form within last 10,000 years").

That doesn't bother me so much. You can have an unscientific (or even anti-scientific) belief grounded in your faith and still not be a total piece of shit, i.e. still care about basic honesty and decency. There are creationists who are decent, progressive people but who compartmentalize that single area of beliefs.

It's probably because where I live but it bothers me.

You want to believe Jesus existed and threw over the table at the temple and all that shit happened? Have at it as far as I am concerned, he very well could have been real and the Romans could indeed have crucified him as that was a favorite execution method of theirs.

But the way religion is used as a crutch or reason to not do certain things... while completely going the opposite way on others bothers me.

I hate to keep bringing it up but the Mormons.. no alcohol of any kind, no tobacco of any kind, and they aren't even supposed to have coffee or tea. Why? It alters your mental state and a bunch of other shit. Ok, that's fine and dandy but then why do so many people out here that are Mormon hit vapes or nicotine alternatives like salt packs instead of dip that have nicotine? THE NICOTINE IS THE MIND ALTERING PART....... just cause physical tobacco isn't present doesn't mean that the active chemical that effects you is gone.

Oh, and you don't want to have coffee or alcohol cause it impacts your brain... but you'll let your kids eat and drink sugar by the boatload? WHAT THE FUCK?!

Yeah, I do have a problem with religion being used as a refuge for intellectual laziness (as a reason not to empathize with LGBTQ persons, not to take concern with climate change because it's all in God's hands, etc.). But I frankly don't care at all about abstinence or any of the apparent contradictions (eating sugar but not drinking caffeine and all that) since it's naturally a thing that has trouble updating itself with new knowledge about science and addiction.
