War Room Lounge v154: People don't realize how many people had to die just for the eight hour day

Agreed. I don't really understand this growing notion among liberals that Rice > Harris.

Am I missing something? This is the same Rice that's worth between $23-43 million, has tons of investments in fossil fuels, has done consulting for multi-billion dollar McKinsey & Company, and who Bernie delegates asked not to pick as VP:

Yeah, we know about Kamala's prosecuting history but I feel like that is a hurdle that's easier to overcome than Rice's corporate ties. It just seems like you're far more entrenched in the general culture of corporate power when you're a multimillionaire investor like Rice than if you're a DA with some authoritative tendencies like Kamala.
I was already nauseous at the prospect of voting for Biden, I honestly don’t think I could have voted for him if Rice was his pick.

FDR's New Deal politics were largely shaped due to outside agitation by the Communist Party and unionists, but he actually ran a very liberal centrist campaign that sought to satiate the oligarchs of the day.

Considering the left has never actually controlled any substantial portion of government in American history the odds are the left's best bet is once again to agitate and put pressure on an administration who is sympathetic to progressive causes.
I mean, you're absolutely right. I post a lot of the American Labor Struggle, but nothing really changes until something drastic (like the massacre I was posting about last night) happens, and even then it's rarely a drastic change. Just a few bones tossed to the left to quell unrest and take a symbolic victory lap. Calming the concerns of the general public and leaving leftist movement scrambling. Often times painted as a well meaning enemy to the public that created "unneeded" chaos to their daily lives... (That chaos led to improved working conditions for every single American I might add)
I'm stoned enough to recognize the brilliance of it no matter how much I hate it.

Basically every day since New Years Eve now.

Shamefully, I sometimes forget Rice's role in the Libyan intervention. I have always been impressed by her poise and intelligence. I don't recall having any problem with how she handled Syria.

We on the left love our academic credentials and intellectuals, but we’re so often blinded by them that we misjudge the character of the person behind them. She’s an arrogant monster with terrible judgement.

She's a cop who Biden picked during historic levels of distrust in cops. She floated the idea of sending parents to jail if their kids didn't show up to school. She put away thousands of people for non-violent marijuana charges. She supported prison slave-labor.

She's a giant piece of shit who went on to brag about how she smoked weed in college and listened to an album [that wasn't even released when she was in college] to look "cool" to younger voters she didn't realize could use Google. All while having a history of prosecuting people for weed violations. Often costing years and in some cases decades.

The point is that it's confusing that you'd pick a "tough on crime" candidate, when "tough on crime" historically means "tough on black communities", especially during an anti-police uprising. It's a dumb fuck pick, unless you're anticipating that either black people vote blue no matter who (I'm sure Lyndon B had something to say about that) or you're simply throwing the election.

Fuck Kamala Harris and fuck Joe Biden.
Lol you actually believe that people were arrested on nonviolent weed charges and got years in jail for it? Or that this happened to thousands of people?

Maybe fact check the mud that was thrown during debates before you get your vitriol up so high.

Gabbard was misleadingly citing figures for all of California while Harris was attorney general — even though the vast majority of marijuana cases in the state are prosecuted by independently elected county district attorneys. And that includes people who had marijuana charges along with kore serious charges like burglary and assault and just happend to have weed on them at the time.

Conviction rate aside, only 45 people were sentenced to state prison for marijuana convictions during Harris’ seven years in office, compared with 135 people during Hallinan’s eight years, according to data from the state corrections department.
I do not partake in right wing media. Do you have a proper video that would clear it up?

And does she believe she belongs in prison for having smoked weed?
“Our policy was that no one with a marijuana conviction for mere possession could do any (jail time) at all,” said Paul Henderson, who led narcotics prosecutions for several years under Harris. Defendants arrested for the lowest-level possession would typically be referred to drug treatment programs instead of being charged, and weightier charges for marijuana sales would routinely be pleaded down to less serious ones, he said.

@tonni why does this remind me of you?

Sometimes tinder be like dat.

The best response that I have ever had on tinder is with one liners. You have to be borderline rude. Quite often you get one word responses. When that happens I say ''well it's been fun chatting but I have to go to the hospital now.''

They always ask ''why what happened?''

I threw out my back trying to carry this conversation.

Any scotch recommendations? I just got 4 sections dumpted on me to manage -against my will. The JW Black I have isnt going to cut it.

The only people I see excited about the Kamala Harris pick are white suburban women and Roland Martin and his gaggle of middle aged black women contributors.

At least Maya Rudolph will get some work out of this

Reddit and much of social media is furious lol. I know the younger crowd doesn’t vote anyway but she was a bad pick.
