Yeah and, to be clear, I don't have any respect or admiration for this author. If you supported Romney and were at-all bright, you were fine with moral bankruptcy and dishonesty. There was no rational reason to think Romney presented any kind of sensible alternative to Obama. His solutions ranged from incoherent (tax policy) to willfully ignorant (climate/energy policy) to straight up shameless (foreign/military policy). If I had it my way, guys like him would be denied a seat at the table entirely. If they want to tag along, they can. But they're a silent partner and one that is not only ignored at will but whose suggestions are treated with a presumption of bad faith.
Also, in the areas that I believe are most important - judicial appointments, worker democracy, tax policy - I have no reason to believe Romney would be meaningfully better than Trump currently is.
