Can anybody explain why people are rioting in Portland? I haven't been able to follow the story, and I'm not sorting through dozens of pages of Andy Ngo videos to get an answer.

@Limbo Pete is on the ground there , let's ask him

Well, there are a few different things going on there
First of all, BLM is still doing the same thing they have been, which is demand some fairly specific things from the city/county/state government. They really really want funding diverted from the police and into social/mental health services, particularly for minorities, which is a reasonable demad. But it's not BLM itself, generally, that is "rioting"; there are a bunch of other tertiary "groups" with agendas of their own that have been hyper combative with the feds, sometimes when it's warranted, many times when it is not. Imo the main group responsible for throwing mortars and trying to light trees on fire, just based on what i've seen with my own two eyeballs, is the Pacific Northwest Youth Liberation Front. It's hard to say, though. Most of the really problematic aggression comes from anarchist-type street people that want the whole government abolished, and those sorts never seem closely aligned with anybody for very long. all they do is look for fights. BLM is far and away the biggest group, and they regularly have very large and peaceful marches. It's not until those marches end or arrive at the Justice Center that things typically go sideways. Most of the primary BLM crowd tends to disperse after the first or second round of gas, and it's mostly those left with gas masks that can actually stay to standoff with the feds. There are a lot of hard conversations going on right now about how these other groups have co-opted the actual reasons for the protests in the first place, despite continuing to do lip service to Black Lives Matter.

I don't very much like you as a person, so my posting habits will differ based on who I'm replying to.

Yeah I think I got that idea from the Cubans and rafts comment (kind of ironic now). But I don’t hold any feelings or anything towards words on screen bro, take it easy

How is it safe to protest? (COVID wise?)

Drinking , listening to Danzig, watching baseball, about to play video games with my sister and nephew, it’s a good night my brothers. Stay strong in this pandemic.

Nice. What game(s) ?

Definitely down with the first two, you lost me at baseball.

Which album?

It's not an ideological thing, more I find you to be bottom of the barrel on an intellectual level. You have the wit and online demeanor of a man who runs a failing Toyota dealership.
