Alice in Chains was a pretty good band, but Pearl Jam was the best of the grunge bands. The band could play circles around any of the bands and Eddie Vedder could out sing anyone, though Chris Cornell was a close second.

I normally don't get into such debates just due to the immense level of subjectivity, AIC has always been my de facto personal fave from that era and Layne is my dude.

I like Soundgarden and Pearl Jam about equally. Fuckin Eddie Vedder though, you can't tell me this isn't what he's actually singing. The lyrics are accurate AF.

Jim is an interesting character. Brilliant, but he got caught up in some serious Satanic shit and eventually became the high priest in Hollyweird.

He is trying to escape, but it is not easy. Imagine the mental stress and the behavioral outlet that he uses so well to deal with the horrors.

Pretty easy to cry when you have seen some of the worst evil first hand.
All he does is think about the children.
