Hey, I have no problem with rip (I think he's just having fun here, and it's harmless), and my position here is that gimmicks are actually NOT common. There are many, many people here I have disagreements with, and many I don't respect. But I think almost all of them are sincere on some level.

They argued that slavery had existed throughout history and was the natural state of mankind. The Greeks had slaves, the Romans had slaves, and the English had slavery until very recently.

They noted that in the Bible, Abraham had slaves. They point to the Ten Commandments, noting that "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, ... nor his manservant, nor his maidservant." In the New Testament, Paul returned a runaway slave, Philemon, to his master, and, although slavery was widespread throughout the Roman world, Jesus never spoke out against it.

I don't think this is a fair argument. There is a real, although admittedly immeasurable, difference between the quality and quantity between right and left wing trolling on this board. It's not a simple "both-sides" argument. The right wing trolls are typically more numerous and more obvious

i agree the left wing trolls are way more subtle about things but at the end of the day a troll is a troll and we have elected 2 of em
