In regard to Fawlty's position that users should be more liberally banned, and acknowledging Ruprecht's points on the narrow discretion mods have to do so, I am going to propose we move in the opposite direction. Can we just not ban them at all so that serious posters can keep track of the shit posters here? When these guys keep getting banned and then creating new accounts or using their old alt accounts, it's impossible to know who you are dealing with and is especially frustrating if they are appealing to your character. For all I know, all of the 20 worst shit posters over the past year have really been just three or four dudes.

When it comes to repeat bans and getting rid of posters it's a combination of Crave policy, forum and sub-forum rules and technical limitations.
