Video starts with group of drunks holding a black man down on the ground while people shout to let him go. A dog barks in the background. While the group holds the black man down they shout at the people recording to leave and stop recording.

Video ends and goes to a new video. Black man is no longer being held on the ground and the two groups are now apart. The "lynching" group claims the other group invaded them. Fat dude who is clearly intoxicated keeps shouting "You stupid Liberal fucks" and tells the other group to leave which they do. Lady from "lynching" group comes up to the other group and says "you are so amazing" while fat dude continues shout obscenities in the background. Video cuts out before the lady finishes her sentence.

New video starts. Same lady from before is now shouting "You are worst than the police" so I guess she doesn't think they are so amazing anymore. Fat dude is now calling black dude a nappy headed bitch. Black dude starts goading fat dude to say the N-word. Drunk dude keeps repeating "You happy with your 5 white friends". His lovely drunk friends keep flipping off the camera.

At this point we are only a bit over 2 mins into this 8 min video and I can't do this anymore. I don't want to waste my brain cells watching 6 more minutes of this shit.

I take long extended breaks then play catch up for a month or two before taking another break

That's how the system works. If you constantly earmark stuff for your constituents, the fact that you voted for a smaller budget makes no difference, you are perpetuating the system. People will reelect you for your earmarking. A moratorium on earmarking so that in the next election that's off the table as a reason for reelection is a more effective move against pork barrel politics, and if you actually are in favour of changing the system, stopping the pork barrelling or reducing the budget, it makes no sense not to support the moratorium.

It does make sense when a transparent alternative does not exist. let’s use Trump as an example. If nothing got earmarked and the executive was given full discretion on spending, would you trust the trump administration to spend it wisely or ethically? I’m all for massive reform on this issue, but simply removing earmarking is not a solution, it’ just creates another problem.

Man... that nap got out of fucking hand but my Docs finally came in and fuck they're glorious. Along with a new copy of Homage to Catalonia. A great book by Orwell about his time in a militia with socialists, communists, and anarchists when he decided all he wanted to do in life was kill a fascist. Funny thing about the Right Wing outrage about the statues.. Like a decade ago they threw a fit and ordered statues honoring the International Brigade to be removed.. but moral consistency is a bit much to ask from some people.. and that's that even pointing our their concerning comparisons of people like Nathan Bedford Forrest, Robert Lee and Jefferson Davis to MLK lol.

Also listening to Killer Mike earlier got me thinking to all the good things to come out of Atlanta, which of course made me think about the fine work Sherman did there and started rereading his correspondence with the mayor of Atlanta and General Hood.

Which now has me wanting to seek out books about the history of American Abolitionism, General Sherman in particular, and Anti-Confederate resistance in the south. Pepe Llula is perhaps one of my favorite characters in the history of New Orleans, and besides being perhaps the best duelist the US ever saw, he was staunchly anti-confederacy.

Sherman is my fave figure from that era and i almost always enjoy reading a d watching things about him. Lost a sweet biography about the man when my house burned down im still sad about. Him and grant finally put an end to that nightmare. We should put statues of him all over the south

I think they just should have renamed the states. Shermabama, South Shermalina, Missishermi, Louisisherma. Georgia just gets changed to Dale, because why not.
