My fav Resi game was always the OG 2, and Code Veronica, can't decide. I really love RE4 now as well, a close second. I'm speaking of the original with the HD fan project, that has massive visual upgrades and FOV sliders. I played that not long before the RE4 remake. If i'm going to replay RE4 again, it will be the HD project of the original.
Let's hope the next remake is Code Veronica!

It's between the first two, the rest cannot compete. I just recently got the RE4 2005 version on Steam because it's in 60fps and it looks great but overall it's not a Resident Evil game. It's so repetitive and linear, it lacks any real substance (virtually no atmosphere and puzzles, which is what the original REs were known for). Fun, but I feel the best part of it is the Mercenaries bonus game and Separate Ways is a nice addition too, especially because it's quite long for a side game.
