had a Starbuck's coffee cake. pretty fucking good.

other than that, a messy coffee experience this morning. motherfucking "barista" didn't cap the lid right. not that it wasn't secured on - the lid was forced on, as if it was too small for the cup by a hair, hence bending the cup to 'fit' in. leaking everywhere. even worse, they must use some shitty ass recycled paper because once the outside of the cup was exposed to the coffee it started crumbling/breaking apart. the very integrity of the cup itself was compromised before I could even take a sip.

/rage.

I've been saying it for years that all baristas should be required to have studied Topology for at least 3 years.

So you look like Joffrey from game of thrones if got to grow up?
Joffrey was already grown up in GoT, he was in his 20s.

That is as big as he gon get.

Funny, but hmmmm....

Been holding out on us, buddeh? I never noticed you being interested in any "sciency" topics. What's your connection to topology?

Season 8 sure as fuck did

Season eight was just the culmination of the crap they'd been putting out since S5(S6 was decent though). People just kept on holding out hope that they'd come around and stick the landing. When they didn't and all hope was lost, years of pent up frustration got unleashed on S8, which really wasn't any worse than S5 and S7.

Yeah I’ve read all the books and the only thing that really disappointed me was how the show runners turned Dorne into absolute shit compared to the story unfolding in book 4 and 5 about Dorne and how Dang makes it to Westeros.

That was when the cracks began to show. Ultimately though, it just seems that once they ran out of material, they were content into turning it into a schlocky and shallow dragons and zombies show. The pulled the wool over people's eyes for while, and then the veil finally came off.

That said, the bad half of the series isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. It's totally watchable, unlike say Dexter or The Walking Dead. It wasn't that bad, just really bad when compared to it's brilliant first half run.

agreed, 110%.

Dorne & her peoples are meant to be badass.

Quentyn Martell's story was depressing though.

Depressing but still better than the shit show that the sand snakes were. I had so much hope after how awesome Pedro was as Obryn.

Dexter was the same for me, only the ending was truly terrible.

@Anung Un Rama

I liked the i]u liked because I’m not sure what you mean here.
I agree with you that the parties are diverging, but not so much away from each other than their constituents.
I agree w possum that they don’t actually care.

Because of the Democratic Party's hold on the South, the parties used to be much less ideologically sorted. You had lots of rightist extremists in the Democratic Party and liberals in the Republican Party. No clear branding, and people would legitimately complain that there wasn't much of a choice. The Civil Rights Act and the Goldwater nomination kicked off the big sorting. For a while after that began, you had multiple identities pulling you in different ways (north/south, left/right, R/D, etc.). But we've moved a long way toward sorting there, too. There's a starker choice now than ever, as a result.

I disagree that they're moving away from their constituents (unfortunately, in the case of one group of constituents in particular) and that they don't care.
