Not sure exactly. I know he made a thread on one topic, a mod merged it to a different thread, and Viva just went and re-made that thread again which is a no no. @HereticBD was telling him to chill out and not to be taking risks like that being a returning ban.

He was also just making a ton of threads the last few days.

I think the span was longer here cause the show and cards were popular then the game was like a whole new wave of it. People took the cards really seriously. I remember in elementary school two kids wanting me to handle trading cards cause they thought the other would steal.

Just to note here, I’ve never seen staff consider if someone was plat when determining to give out infractions or a ban. Plenty of new plat accounts have been banned.

Certain types will deal double damage to others, like using water gun on a fire type. Other types will resist and do half damage, like flame thrower to a water type. Some will even do 0 damage what so ever like an electric move to a ground type

I know it fairly well by heart after all the hours I played but that Gen didn't have Fairy type in it(most current Fairy types were Normal type then) so that type throws me off.

I recognize all these words individually, but the sentences might as well be Swahili.

Yeah wouldn't make sense if you didn't play it but I think its a little after your time.

The success of the series is due to the fact that its a very simple turn based RPG that still has a lot of depth. In many RPGs you control a party(~4) and your characters have many moves to choose from that do lots of complicated things. In Pokemon you usually control one, maximum two, characters and they can only have four moves that have straight forward effects and damage. There's a complex but manageable type interaction system and a couple of other mechanics beyond that like double battles, same type attack bonus, and nature interactions but you often don't really have to understand it that all that well to be able to beat the game. So its easy to learn but hard to master.

Most importantly the Pokemon designs are really amazing; they're often relatively simple and usually communicate something relevant about the Pokemon like their type. And most importantly there's endless merchandising potential. Just look at how ubiquitous Pikachu has become. Ridiculous cash cow for Nintendo.

Uhm, it never should have been put up in the first place. He’s the biggest piece of shit this country has ever produced. It’s quite literally like putting up a statue of Hitler.

People that claim raising statues in public places is to “preserve history” are either lying or ignorant. It’s to put the person in question in a position of reverence and awe.

If they were so concerned about history, perhaps they could make sure history in school is being taught in a correct way, with a thorough and updated curriculum?
