Kinda funny because it was the inclusive nature of the roman empire that allowed it to spread. The empire created the emperors, and the primary method of spread was that the local populations had something to gain by calling themselves romans. Eventually, the most competent leadership wasn't exactly roman from rome, and when those were blocked from becoming emperor they decided to sack rome instead.

Oh and they were all a bunch of lead eating waterheads, that might have had something to do with it.

Wasn't the same sort of true with Genghis Khan and the Mongolian Empire? They were absolutely brutal to those that opposed the conquest but for the communities that accepted Mongol rule and paid taxes they were basically allowed to rule themselves and the Mongols adopted a lot of the culture they conquered including religion

That sounds familiar but I don't know anything about the mongols. It's just the easiest way to do things.

More or less. If you bent the knee they just took your shit and absorbed you. If you resisted, they took your shit, killed everyone with a pulse, burnt down your city, and salted the earth with the calcium from your charred bodies.

20 states report increase in Covid cases.

that just fucking dampens the mood.

@Trotsky said this just now in the defunding police thread;

While this is true, yes, it's not really relevant since community policing addresses this problem by ceding enforcement to members of that ethnic community.

This seems like it would be a disaster if ever implemented how he sees it. Not only is it extremely tribal (I thought this was bad) it's inviting so much racial tension.

I don’t think anyone is shocked that it’s spreading.

These numbers don't even reflect the impact of the protests.

3 of the states trending up are Cali, FL and Texas the 3 most populous states in the country and Florida has a lot of old people.

Oh well then after they include the effects of the protest do you think there will also be a rose of the virus spreading?

yup. it'll show in about 2-3 weeks time. Nevada is another bubbling hot spot.

There’s no way to allow social distancing and frequent sanitation is a casino, I hope they have left the buffets closed.

they're supposedly taking "effective measure" - temperature reading checkpoints, hand washing stations.

Yeah I'm expecting a pretty big bump in the next couple of weeks.

they need to constantly clean any surface after someone touches it. I mean think about what they are doing just when you go get groceries.

Opening up was always going to coincide with an increase in cases. But as long as ICU capacity holds up, it makes sense to relax restrictions. Restrictions are being relaxed here as well.
