Why don't you ever ask the prominent Canadian anti-Trumpers the same thing? Genuine curiosity, or cherry picking foreigners who aren't on your political team? Hmm...

Seems more natural for someone in another country to see our president's failures and say, "jeez, this guy is a chump" than it is for someone in another country to constantly defend our president.

Yeah it was clearly for no good reason. If he had least had used the opportunity to do something I could get it, like some short speech to help address the grievances of the nation or at least some kind of reassuring speech with Bible quotes but he couldn't even manage that.
Holding a bible in the photo op is just a post-ironic wink to his stooges. He might as well have been holding a copy of 1984.

I follow some guys like Marcus Luttrell and Dave Rutherford on social media. And it's kind of amazing to see people calling them virtue signaling communists who hate America simply for posting a black image on their Instagram page.

Yes, they should be mind readers, and just let Trump walk through a crowd that has already proven to be violent and destructive, because they weren't burning shit at that moment.

Must be nice living in your fairy tale world.
Of course I didn't say that but not surprised you'd be dishonest. I said he could've less than an hour to either avoid the protest or at least give the SS a better pretense for dispersing it.
That's up to the President.
Ah so its up to the POTUS and therefore we lowly citizens have no right to criticize or comment on it? Should we just accept what the President does without any moral evaluation? Let's be honest here, if it was Trudeau doing something like this you certainly wouldn't hyper-focus on legality and avoid any moral examination.

Dodge noted.

Your opinion on what the President should or shouldn't be doing, is irrelevant. If he goes anywhere, the secret service will be there to make sure he gets there safely. That sometimes requires getting people out of the way. That's it. That's all there is to it.

You're arguing with the normative power of the factual, as Georg Jellinek put it. It's actually a leitmotif of a lot of the Trump apologists: that because legally he is able to do something, it is also legitimate to do it.

This is a dangerous take in my opinion. It also misses the point completely, as we should be concerned less about the act as such than about its consequences. This is the beginning of the Erdoganization of US politics.

Everyone should go take a look at @Madmick 's contribution in the following thread:

https://forums.sherdog.com/threads/trump-punks-the-media-that-said-he-hide-in-a-bunker.4111990/

Embarrassing that this guy is a mod.

Lol, that is true conservatism right there. Straight up monarchism.

Say what you will about @Madmick, especially if it's hilarious, but I do believe he'd grant the same slavish deference to power to Obama. And that is something since most of the persons like him, including probably every poster that liked those posts, are purely partisan in their reactions to power and would probably scream for impeachment if Obama gassed protesters for a photo op.

You guys in here and the Bible photo thread are threatening my like quota.

On the plus side, I actually sparred with humans this morning and am now day drinking at my local shithole, all while blowing off work, like an AMERICAn! Feels good, I want to hug the bartender, but she’s always at least 6 feet away.

People are quick to conflate looters and protestors. Personally I've found that at any but the most organised of protests (typically by unions), you'll be hard pushed to present a coherent message, and there'll be a bunch of folk that you disagree with entirely who may well be louder, more violent/destructive and therefore more attention grabbing than you. Let alone with this sort of wide spread mayhem.
yep, ive been to a few including some that turned violent, you cant control the crowd like a homogenous whole, and im 100% certain ive seen plainclothes cops/security services up to skullduggery at a few.
