BTW, can we all mourn the great Jerry Stiller?

It must be my age but he's one of those guys I feel like I saw him as a periphery character in a ton of movies and stuff in the late 90s.

Pretty sure he was the dad from Space Balls as an example.

I think retirement and business career was always going to be difficult for Jordan, who was so used to willing himself and others to the top, especially in sports where so much is out of one's control and dependent on the performance of others.

I think it's undeniable, just based on his success, that he was a good leader. He may have ran practices tyrannically behind closed doors, but (at least to my recollection) he also shielded teammates from criticism, took criticisms of the team head-on, and didn't throw teammates or coaches under the bus like Lebron has done repeatedly.

If I'm listing basketball GOAT's just based on their dominance/influence on winning games/championships, I'm going: (1) Michael Jordan, (2) Shaquille O'Neal. Maybe I put Lebron next, or maybe not. I'm tempted to rank Duncan over him based on the fact that I don't think the Spurs win as many championships with Lebron rather than TD.

Good point about him keeping the abuse internal. I definitely don't remember hearing any criticism of his leadership during his playing days. In fact, I barely remember this coming out in the last 10 years or so.

While Lebron sometimes spouts off to the media about teammates, he's also far kinder and more supportive to them. Who knows which style is best. On the court and individually, it's MJ all the way though.

I place less importance on winning than most others. To me, team sports have way too many factors at play when it comes to winning. Sometimes it's the system, sometimes it's your teammates, sometimes it's just luck. Though the players that are so good they carry entire teams are obviously the best.

1) Jordan
2) Kareem
3) Lebron
4) Magic
5) Wilt
6) Hakeem
7) Shaq
8) Bird
9) Kobe
10) Barkley

Yeah, when he was past the typical actor prime he became more of a character actor/supporting actor. Still stole plenty of scenes. Take him out of King of Queens and the show isn't watchable.

Yeah, look in the Fauci thread. Definitely banned.

William H Macy until Shameless came out was a lot like that too.

Guy was in a ton of well known movies and stuff and shows but never the leading guy.

Or Civilization

Add in you gotta wonder how many rings he and Pippen would have won had he not taken time off to go play baseball.

Noooooow you've done it. I was about to get my workout on but must address this.

If he doesn't retire he absolutely does not win 8 in a row. Steve Kerr has stated how completely draining it was to win the second 3-peat and how there was no way they could have won 4. In this Last Dance series, Jordan himself said he was beyond exhausted after beating Phoenix for the first 3-peat. The mental toll of the expectations and pressure is just too much.

So if he doesn't retire, the pressure is unbearable and it's very hard the Bulls make it out of the East in the first place.

And IF they manage to make the finals, the Rockets beat them both times. During their first 3-peat, the Rockets were 5-1 against the Bulls in the regular season, by far the best in the league. Plus, Hakeem reached the stratosphere in those two years, winning MVP, DPOY and Finals MVP in 1994. In the 1995 playoffs he dominated and eliminated the #1, #2, #3 MVP vote getters. He just couldn't be stopped.

Jordan is the GOAT but playing baseball was the best move he made cuz if not, he'd have a 6-2 finals record

So what you're saying is even with the losses it'd still be better than LeRoid's record?
