Yea, which leads to the balance of how much do you baby the populace over fake news rather than having them become more responsible how they gather information on the internet. We eventually have to get to a place where the average joe doesn’t believe every Facebook post they glance at in their newsfeed. I’m not sure if it’s just generational problem but I hope so.

We need to develop a curriculum around how to access and filter information and start teaching it in elementary school , by the time my son was in grade 4 he had friends talking about the Illuminati controlling society , kids minds are being developed by YouTube without nearly enough guidance .

I think that ship has sailed. It's like saying "people would interact more if they weren't glued to their phones". It's over, point of no return.

Only solution now would be to forcefully regulate viewings on the population, but if you ever wanted some evil ending of a movie, that's how you get it. Average Joe is gonna just degrade over time now, not improve.

I’m a little more optimistic. We haven’t had a point where people born with social media are the elderly. It will always exist but I think it could be far less widespread.

Not sure about the age but a current events type class should be able to cover that. We somewhat already are taught it because we had to write papers and cite our sources. Back then though, the teachers would just yell at people for using Wikipedia. Today, I bet far worse sources are cited.
