Mmmmmmm, Davidoff

fuck Utah tobacco laws too though I know an online retailer willing to ship to me
Guy at the cigar shop in Breckenridge said he’s going to shut down soon because we’re taxing the shit out of tobacco here, so, yeah, fuck Colorado’s laws, too.

I get my cigars from famous smoke, but today I found out my favorite local steak shop (del friscos double eagle) sells to-go groceries, and they also have an amazing cigar room. So I got steaks, sides, and a few nice cigars for the week, life is good.

Can anyone else make sense of this exchange?

I had an earnest headache moment trying to understand this.

Skysolo: This lawyer undertook a dishonest smear campaign against a worker seeking collective action to prevent exposure to coronavirus, and the lawyer retweeted a criticism of Bernie Sanders support of the worker organizing

Nostra: The worker wasn't a manager and the lawyer wrote a response to the criticism, not merely a retweet.
Skysolo: You're mincing words
(Note: it was just a straight retweet; I have no idea what the ambiguity here is)
Nostra: Right, cause we all know lawyers are the most honest people in society.

Am I missing something? Or is this just another case of someone incoherently making posts that they feel have the spirit of argument without regard for what they're actually saying?

Uhh....what?
It means people will argue for the status quo because it's easy.

We get so wrapped up in our on world-view that we can't see any other perspective.

@Trotsky, this is what really had me thinking harder than I want to when reading two morons talking to each other:

You are just mincing words with he retweeted a response that's not a criticism but it is nonsense.

Just bought 350 dollars worth of booze. Should be good for the week.

For it's price, Crown Royal is great.

Weren't you a mod like 2 seconds ago?

No, I didn't send someone shirtless pics. I reposted a pic from the "who has the guts to show themselves" thread. What a lovely system you gross hacks have where everyone is either obese or gay for proving they aren't.

and I made sure to jack off to this pic several times.

have you seen it?

it's actually a pretty good, lower budget found footage film.

some legit creepy scenes in it.

No, I haven't.

But, as lame as this sounds, I read the Wikipedia plot summary and thought it sounded interesting and unnerving.

wait, do you really believe the Earth is flat? honest question.

No. You shouldnt believe everything you read.

I asked if you believed the Earth was flat. that implies that I don't believe everything I read.

When he says you shouldn't believe everything you read, he means his own posts
Just had a recent epiphany:

The earth is flat. Planets are stars. Stars are angels. The sun is not a star but it's own light source. The sun is local and the same size as the moon. The moon is not reflecting the sun's light but giving off it's own. The north pole is at the center of the earth and Antarctica surrounds the earth. The sun, moon, and stars revolve around us.

God is real and is Word is literally true.

giphy.gif

And this,
No i have not. However I am a Bible believer and according to the Bible there is no universe. Just the earth and a dome surrounded by a bunch of water.

I do find it curious that whenever we see UFOs we don't actually see aircraft traveling into earth from outer space. All we see is lights that appear, do some small movements, and then disappear. That to me sounds more like something from the spiritual realm manifrsting into the physical and back out again rather than aliens traveling from pluto.

I dont see how this backs up your assertion.

I think you need to read the Bible a little more carefully:

. "By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible." (Hebrews 11:3)

. "Behold, the nations are as a drop in the bucket, and are counted as the small dust in the balance. All nations before Him are as nothing; they are counted to Him less than nothing. He bringeth the princes to nothing. He maketh the judges of the earth as a vanity. Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not; neither is weary." (Isaiah, Chapter 40)

. "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, 'Let there be light', and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness." (Genesis 1:1-31)

When i said universe i was referring to the solar system. According to the Bible the earth is a flat disc, covered by a dome, surrounded by water. The sun and moon are nothing but two seperate lights. The stars are angels and the planets are stars. That's according to the Bible.

Given that description there is no possibility of extraterrestrial alien beings from other planets.

Where does it say that on the Bible? Sounds like the 'flat' Earth theory.

Genesis 1:6 "....and God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the
waters from the waters.
"

"In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, 'Let there be light', and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness." (Genesis 1:1-31)

2 Samuel 22:10 "...he bowed the heavens also..."

There was water and then God formed the earth in the midst of that water. He put a bowed firmament(a dome) over the earth to seperate it from the water the earth is surroynded by. That's why the heavens opened and water poured into the earth during Noahs flood.

And yes, id say the Bible describes an enclosed flat earth.

You are using some of the same Bible verses that I used. The verses you quoted say nothing about the Earth being a disc.

. Firmament: The heavens or the sky, especially when regarded as a tangible thing. A sphere or world viewed as a collection of people.

The Creation account in Genesis 1:9 describes all the land as existing 'in one place' while all waters are gathered likewise. Geometrically, this can only happen on a sphere (gravity), and therefore Genesis 1 implies a round earth.

The shape of the Earth may already have been known in Isaiah's time. Ancient astronomers could determine that the Earth was round by observing its circular shadow move across the moon during lunar eclipses. There is some suggestion that the Egyptians knew of the Earth's spherical size and shape around 2550 B.C.E. - more than a thousand years before Moses.

The universe confirms the Bible:
"The Bible indicates that the earth is round. Consider Isaiah 40:20 which mentions the 'circle of the earth'. This description is certainly fitting—particularly when the earth is viewed from space; the earth always appears as a circle since it is round."

"Another verse that indicates the spherical nature of our planet is Job 26:10. This verse teaches that God has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters at the boundary of light and darkness. This boundary between light and darkness (day and night) is called the 'terminator' since the light stops or 'terminates' there. The terminator is always a circle, because the earth is round."

"The Bible indicates in several places that the universe has been 'stretched out' or expanded. For example, Isaiah 40:22 teaches that God 'stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in'. This would suggest that the universe has actually increased in size since its creation. God has stretched it out. He has expanded it (and is perhaps still expanding it)."

Yes. Not demons tho, angels.

jupiter saturn and the rest of the planets are angels?

According to the Bible. They are wandering stars. If you look at actual footage of stats and of planets they do look the same.

Are you a flat earther?

I dont know what shape the earth is. According to the Bible and my senses its a flat disc tho.

Deadly moonlight shines cold upon the Lounge again.

Every day I think he can't get dumber, but Trump just proves me wrong

No, I haven't.

But, as lame as this sounds, I read the Wikipedia plot summary and thought it sounded interesting and unnerving.

Give it a go...I want to hear your thoughts on it. I think it's on Amazon Prime.

anyway, when I rate films, I afford some leeway and latitude depending on the budget. which I why I really liked Paranomal Activity (ONLY THE FIRST ONE).

It was effective, and done on a very limited budget.

Dont have their names
LOL of course not, but they're otherwise entirely credible to you, right? And the reason you grant that credibility is literally because of confirmation bias, as you said here, "I find they make sense," right?

When he says you shouldn't believe everything you read, he means his own posts

And this,

Ive evolved my position. I do not know what shape the earth is. In fact I say so in one of those posts you quote.

Had you asked me about my previous posts I would have explained. But I suppose thats too considerate.

I really liked the first Paranormal Activity. Particularly, I liked the original non-theatrical/Canadian ending (with the police). It lacked the jump scare, but it was unnerving and brought in elements of tragedy. I really disliked both of the theatrical/re-release endings (with the throw and monster face).

I thought the second one was still good. And the third one was only pretty good, but still much better than the average horror film. Both of them had more believable acting than the first, which was pretty cringey in that department.

I didn't like the fourth, and I didn't watch the fifth or sixth.
