I think he was trying to say that you're monkey faced camel soldier.I legitimately have no idea what so ever what he was trying to say there.
Yeah this shit is brutal. Our society puts so much value on keeping low wage workers disposable that there's no room for any kind of flexibility in the face of this stuff. It seems clear that the GOP would rather let everyone die or go bankrupt than give up on even the slightest amount of privilege, and the people that support them are so bought into the the fantasy that they would rather die or go broke before abandoning it.What are we supposed to do? Our livelihood is at stake. AirBNB fucked up the housing market so rent is too high. I live in a neighborhood where in 1989 my apartment cost $300 a month and wages haven't risen. This city thrives because of hospitality workers and we don't have insurance, and we don't make enough money to afford a day off.
This time, like every time, it'll work for one candidate and not for the other one.
No ones calling you mad, not me anyway. You are calling me disgusting and dumb for taking what I think is a safer path to a similar end or at least something in that direction. Bernie wanted to be the revolution guy, the all finance is fraud guy. Well that’s his branding choice and it did not work with the voters that mattered. That’s not a scam either, Dems, all of them, even the moderates that won the house, have been moved to the left. Let’s get the WH back, the senate, and keep the house and move things in the right direction rather than the backwards of the last 4.
I'm talking about my own community. It's been mostly... less than stellar under the Trump administration. If he wins again, it gets worse. Maybe a whole lot worse. The stakes in this election are not evenly distributed across the board. I don't actually care who people vote for; i've got plenty of friends that likes them some Trump. But it should be recognized that the effects of his policies are disproportionately felt by groups that need allies in order to have agency in our government. If someone decides, after the primary, that voting Bernie to try and sabotage Biden is appropriate, i'd kindly point out that there is a lot of privilege as to who actually suffers the most for that decision.
The biggest and most obvious one was when the DOI took the Mashpee Wampanoag's land out of trust status, and the ensuing court decision that threatens to provide an ingress for large scale termination. They ruled that tribes recognized after the Indian Reorganization Act can't have land held in trust status (which is what the relationship between the federal gov and tribes is based around). That's a huge subject and I won't go into the details here, but it's had asses clenched for a whiiiiile now waiting for the other shoe to drop. There are broad movements across the country to shrink or further compartmentalize trust land, which again is not something I want to slice up on the forum, but it's part of an administrative attitude and policy preference favoring dis-enrollment, private development, and overall retractions of sovereignty. The shift against tribal gaming has been a big blow, and there is a whole lot of money and resources being spent right now fighting legal battles- in particular at the state level- to preserve tribal gaming compacts. Then there's the absolutely grotesque incompetence at the BIE. There was a major shit storm with a judge striking down the Indian Child Welfare Act, which fortunately managed to survive for now. That one is particularly fucked up, and quite honestly boils my blood having worked so closely with tribal children in the system. Things have improved a bit since the GOP lost Congress, but the executive wields an outsized influence over tribal life seeing as the President is directly in charge of overseeing the DOI, which in turn controls the BIE and BIA. And good sweet jesus, tribal healthcare.Out of curiosity, how have the policies hurt your buds?
