My office is in a confusing spot.

Just cause the mayor announced a state of emergency doesn’t mean criminals stop, well, committing crimes so everyone’s like
“Are we supposed to go home or stay here?”

I feel really fortunate at the moment. I already work from home, so my job and income aren't disrupted. And I create a product that people can use from their home, so we're less affected by quarantines.

Only downside is we heavily rely on advertisers, who will have less ad-inventory as the economy continues to slow. But overall, I'm grateful to be in the position I'm in.

So it's starting to really feel like I should probably buy a gun.

Want suggestions or questions answered based on what your needs and wants are? @PolishHeadlock2 mentioned the same the other day.

@Gregolian @Cubo de Sangre We should make a thread in the weapons sub-forum (which is mostly a gun chat place) for lefties curious about buying a gun. Leave the politics and baggage at the door. Just a helpful questions answered place to point them in a direction and not overwhelm with the massive amount of options and features out there a first time buyer doesn’t need to get tangled up in.

Paid sick leave, government backed paid sick leave (ie gov reimburse a company for their employee missing time) or a mandate like minimum wage that all places must offer 3 weeks paid sick time where a doctors note is presented?

I'm in NJ so I think I'm restricted from most of the cool stuff.

My county is a 2nd A sanctuary tho.

What do you want it for?

Lots of companies make California compliant products hag will be OK to use in NJ and other more restricted states.

Some online retailers won’t sell/ship to places though

I haven't seen the details

Apocalypse defense.

That was another thing I was think of with a thread. The W&T guys are familiar with a lot of the stricter states and can help you jump through those hoops while avoiding anything that could get you in trouble. I’m familiar with Illinois and their FOID card system and how the mag size restriction actually applies, I’ve seen others talk knowledgeably about California laws and I think NJ.

Looking basic home defense? Like a handgun or Shotgun?

I was pretty partial the the M1A in Tarkov, but I hear that they are kind of lame IRL.

Maybe some kind of AR10/AR15 NJ compliant variant. This is for the apocalypse not just home defense.

A far superior response to Trump’s/GOP’s. The payroll tax cuts idea is bothering me too. I’m not suggesting we go crazy trying to target help but payroll taxes won’t help anyone that’s unemployed or has to stay home sick (obviously) and has a reduced benefit to service workers who see their hours cut due to less traffic.

It’s ok, I guess, but really fails the “most bang for your buck” test.

The deferred taxes and zero interest rates idea for those industries (in your post above) is straight up laughable.

I’m at risk of being a simple bitch here but why don’t we just give people money instead?

If you were in a State ok with NFA items

Ar15 in .300 Blackout as an SBR with a 10.5 barrel and a Sandman M from Dead Air as a can on the end.

thing would be fucking silent.

Also cutting the payroll-tax holiday off at the election was amazing. Trump is just cartoonishly unfit for office.

Now it does, but let's not pretend conservatives didn't have to be pushed kicking and screaming to arrive at this newfound tolerance.
The "conservative" and "liberal" labels are thrown around as if there is no spectrum and only extremes. Somebody like @Captain Davis for instance will be fiscally conservative and socially liberal (abortion, gay marriage etc). The party has changed over time as well and shifted stances as we move into further generations. Its why looking at a position like somebody like Biden had 30 years ago (remember a school bus issue brought up) is not fair as times naturally change and perspectives change. That is not flip flopping to me. Now if a candidate changes their mind in a short period and declares themselves changed then that is a different story. But overall everyone that votes democrat is not far left nor is everyone that votes republican far right. The extremes get pointed out and focused on but that's not reality.

Reviving the Confederacy isn't socially liberal.
