One of my great shames is a trait shared by most Americans: limited foreign language skills. I'm intermediate in Spanish (can read well, write/talk basically, and hear almost nothing) and have very, very basic Danish. But that's it.

That and my Sherdog infraction history. Some of my greatest shames.

I hold my heart every time you get yellows.

Anyway, I'd like to learn some more languages. I'm a good learner but I'm really lazy that way. Everything bores me instantly.

This is a massive hyperbole considering the number of horrible and talentless persons in media, particularly TV. Dick was a Second City alum, which is the iconic comedy starting ground, before going on to Letterman and NewsRadio.

I always admired foreign kids in school learning multiple languages. I had a German class with a Mexican kid and a Chinese kid. They were learning 2 new languages at once. It was pretty cool.

I don't remember shit from my German class.
 
Just filed my first ever car insurance claim.
 
I'm curious if anyone here has a similar story to this:

The bar soap I use is oval and curved, like the top part of a saddle. The other day it was down to a fairly thin sliver and I dropped it. It landed edge on with the long axis vertical, so on the narrow end, and it stuck there, standing upright on the floor of the tub. It's actually the second time that's happened--the previous time was several years ago.

It looked cool as fuck standing there like a tiny little monolith. When I picked it up, there was a perfect little flat spot, right on the edge. It seems like such an unlikely occurrence that having happened a second time, I have to assume there's some confluence of shape and just the right amount of give in the soap on impact that causes it to hit end on in the first place, and then not bounce or fall over. But it's still really neat.

I know you said you were going to go through insurance for your repairs but only if it was not going to cause a bump in premiums, so great--glad I remembered, but just in case, you didn't have some sort of accident I hope, did you?

Took forever but mostly painless. I have comprhensive so I shouldn't be out too much thankfully.

No accident. Rock chip in my windshield became a crack so getting the windshield replaced and then the soft cover for my bed got pulled up by wind and came down on my roof and damaged something internal in the sunroof causing it to not open/close and it won't seal itself now in the "shut" position unless I jam something into it to hold it shut.
