I know exaxtly two people who have it. My unpleasant great aunt and my mother's retired gynaecologist husband. So it's a thing, but far from common.
@Trotsky

A washlet is far better and definitely worth it--heated seat, temperature adjustable water stream, multi-function. Don't knock it till you try it. I agree cold water would be unpleasant but washlets are fucking awesome.

When I was 13, my dad took me to a dirt bike track to ride my little Kawasaki 80 around and when we got there, MTV was having some event and Deftones played. Shit was awesome. White Pony had just dropped and was taking the world by storm.

Looks like there's actually video of it up.

Fuck, that's rad. I'm jealous.

@tonni @JDragon As enlightened Euros whose countries have abolished the death penalty, what are your opinions on the subject? IIRC, even though it's abolished, a plurality of Europeans still favor it.

I'm personally a critic of the institution in terms of administration but supportive of it on principle. I used to feel the state shouldn't hold ultimate dominion over citizens' lives, but I've drifted to the point where I'm sympathetic to capital punishment in a number of situations. I personally favor extremely harsh sentences (if not execution) for forcible rape alone and automatic capital punishment for homicides involving rape or torture.
I’d agree with you. My main objection to the death penalty is that it inevitably gets abused and innocent people die.

The “it’s inhumane” argument doesn’t really hold up, since being locked up in a cell for life is not that humane either.

I lean towards abolishment just as a precaution, not because I’m morally against the people you listed being put down.
