That said, yeah, it can ruin marriages. My brother is dating a divorced woman who got divorced when her husband came out as a trans woman.

I'm very attached to my male naughty bits, as it were, but funny enough, I just said to my wife the other day, if I got a sex change, I'd be a lesbian. It's my way of pointing out that sexual preference and gender are correlated, but they are still more or less independent of each other. Just like you can have effeminate straight guys, you can have effeminate males who feel they should be female but are attracted to women anyway. Not to preach, but there's no reason for them to be suspect over any other combo, IMO.

If you're undesirable, a sex change isn't going to alter that. If the phenomenon exists (I doubt the number is significant) that's more an issue with being able to doctor shop in the US than anything, I think.

I think the dude was both a bigot and an ableist, to be honest. Sounds like his brother/sister had some severe mental issues, and the TS was just apathetic.

I don't think it's a huge phenomenon but I've personally known a few pathetic dudes on the way to being incels going trans and then preaching the weird "if lesbians don't fuck trans women they're bigots". The fact that the rhetoric exists alone disgusts me.

It's not inherently true because it deliberately conflates sex with gender just like the dudebros do when saying you can't be a woman if you're born with a penis. It's a crass and disingenuous argument.

Note though, I'm also against conflating trans issues with those faced by lesbians and gays. Shout out to NoDak, for whom I know this was a sore spot.
