JD Vance called those young Republicans “kids” and brushed off what they said as “stupid jokes.” But let’s be clear, these aren’t kids. They’re adults between 24 and 35 years old, and the content in those chats is way beyond dumb jokes.

We’re talking thousands of messages filled with racist and antisemitic slurs, violent fantasies, and straight-up advocacy for things like gas chambers, burning people alive, and sexual violence. That’s not immaturity, that’s bigotry and hate speech.

Here are just a few examples from the chat logs:

“I’m ready to watch people burn now.” — Annie Kaykat

“I’m going to create some of the greatest physiological torture methods known to man.” — Peter Giunta

“Everyone that votes no is going to the gas chamber.” — Peter Giunta (former NY Young Republicans chair)

There is even ways worse texts than those that I won't post here at all

Some of the people involved weren’t just random users either, several held leadership roles in Young Republican chapters or worked as political staffers or officials.

The New York GOP actually suspended its state Young Republican chapter over this, largely because of members who were in that chat posting hateful garbage.

So for JD Vance to downplay this, to call it “kids being kids,” is disgraceful. These are grown adults promoting violence and hate, and minimizing it only normalizes that behavior further.

This wasn’t “just a joke.” It was a window into the kind of hate that’s festering inside parts of the political establishment, and pretending otherwise is cowardice.

I will very narcissistically quote myself here from pre-election. I was told I was being "too negative", but I'm not seeing it.

We're not in a right wing clique. We are in a particular point in history characterized by:

- Hyper individualism and clout as currency
- Attention whoring and narcissism

Why does Trump have to have dirt that the GOP is a bag of shit, when everyone knows already that the GOP is a bag of shit? Everyone already knows that money is funneled into their fundraising from Russia. Everyone remembers the GOP going broke at the start of the escalation in Ukraine by Russia. What would be the fall out of this, probably nothing as it is not disallowed. Jimmy Carter talked about the money funneling in during his administration when he was president that had an undo influence on U.S. politics. Russia probably figured out that it was cheaper to just buy off politicians than to have any type of war with the U.S. and the GOP fervently blocked campaign finance reform.

As far as other stuff, I don't think more have more than their fingers in money pots they shouldn't.
