War Room Lounge Thread v180: I'm assuming "The Nazis" is an obscure Canadian Ska Band.

I’m a normal employed, educated, a tad underemployed father who grew up very popular who has had a healthy sex life and good relationships with 5/6 of my children.
It’s a lock I’m more normal than you in real life. The truth and common sense sound weird to you.

My quasi random thoughts of the day:

1) buying good band aids are really worth the extra cost.
2) for the longest time, when someone said something "sucks the bag", I thought the bag was a brown paper bag. Am I the only one naïve to this?
3) If Sherdog War Room was a Red or Blue state, which is it, which state would it be?

Edit:
4) the far right is just as into cancel culture as the far left, they just make up accusations of :eek::eek::eek:philia first to justify their cancel culture.

1) Absolutely. Absolutely.
2) LOL, I guess I've never heard that phrase or never noticed it.
3) Florida AINEC
4) Yep. Yep.

So, like five out of six children? Or do you mean five OR six cuz can't keep track of how many you have?

Medical ain't legal here I'm afraid, but I smoke the best stuff NOLA has to offer.

I'm thinking Irish Channel tbh. I've mellowed out a lot as a person the last six months.

It's almost impossible to describe the beauty of the neighborhood. @Darkballs you want to help with this? There's such a magic to this city that is indescribable. Each neighborhood is just it's own special wonder.

As someone who was born there, I always struggle to describe New Orleans to people who haven't lived there. It's just got such a unique style all to it's own. Perhaps it's just because, by American standards, it's one of our older cities. But you also consider the cultures that held sway for such long periods. Occupations and governance by the French for over 100 years. Occupation and governance by the Spanish. Then you consider other cultural milestones. Being a significant stop on the slave trade giving New Orleans a unique demographic, albeit, originating from terrible circumstances. The first free neighborhood of color in America. Our role in the Battle of 1812. Largest percentage of Sicilian immigrants until N.Y. passed us in the early 20th century.

So many different cultures left their mark on the city. And to risk a stupid gumbo analogy that Louisianians love to use, those flavors marinated into something special. You have this relatively small city (geographically speaking), but have so many distinct neighborhoods. The Marigny with it's history of live music, the birthplace of jazz and a center for zydeco. The Irish Channel and across the river in Algiers, you have the fishermen and the maritime communities, which are a lifeblood for the local economy. The French Quarter as one of the largest historically protected sites in the U.S.

That's not to say that New Orleans is without it's problems. But even with them, there's still no city like it in America

I hope you go blind and then dedicate your life to becoming the best blind golfer. But, you're only like the seventh best blind golfer and nobody cares.
I’m sure you’d yell to keep me from walking off a cliff.

Do you speak French?

I wonder if Holic has another completely idiotic post-debate rant he is going to fire out to all his "friends" on facebook?

Nah, and I gave my parents shit for it. They were the first generation to skip teaching their kids French as a first language. Did so for the typical "we want them to fit in reasons." My relatives give us shit for it too. I mean, I've got some phrases in me, and can follow a basic conversation and order in a restaurant, but nope, not fluent.

Sherdog is Texas. A small collection of rational, educated, and cosmopolitan spots surrounded by seas of Louie Gohmerts.

Similar story with me. All the interesting languages stopped at my grandparents for ''fitting in'' reasons. I was lucky enough to have French immersion available to me in school, so that's one half recovered. Ukrainian is a little more tricky. I was learning it with duolingo and italki this summer and was able to have a simple conversation with my grandma for the first time. But it's a bit harder to find resources for.

It's rare that I think the "LOL liberals" tweets from the Trumpists here are worth anything...but fucking yikes. The fact that she's a "Corporate Attorney & Investment Advisor" makes me much more comfortable laughing at her being dumb.

My personal fave was a comment in the debate thread when Biden said he was "waiting for the infrastructure plan in '17, '18" and someone wrote "Biden is crazy, saying he's been waiting for Trump's infrastructure plan since 1718!!!".
