Joker 2 wasn’t as bad as the reviews. Not great for sure. I think Phillips was horrified with how people loved the bad guy in the original and decided to do everything to correct it in this one. It’s pretty fitting timing actually for the whole CEO murder recently.
Edit: I’ve been made aware of Phillips resume and it doesn’t seem like that guy would be too horrified at his audiences take on the first movie. I do still think the second really was just a reflection on the first movie and deglorifying the villain though. I usually hate when they do sequels for a story that doesn’t need one but for that angle, this one passes.
