Where is the bet thread? Didn't it used to be stickied?

Yea, can't remember why they removed the sticky. Maybe someone got offended or something lol. It gets buried now:

Lmao i read his last one.
Dude has never read a book in his life

The right doesnt think trumps desperate attempts to remain president is anything to worry about or illegal. Like take the trying to use fake electors or pressuring officials to not certify the election. Theyve normalized it.
Well like I said, the American right re-elected Bush despite there being no WMDs. So I don't expect any electoral accountability in the US at all.
Even so, it's clear from the current political "dialogue" (and reflected in any attempts made to quantify or qualitatively assess) American democracy has deteriorated to the point that democracy itself is no longer something considered particularly important. It's all about identity.
In which case I guess narcissism and vacuous self promotion might be truly representative of America, it's (self) interests and global role.

Risk of penile fractures rises at Christmas, doctors find

The fractures are often heralded by an audible crack, followed by severe pain, rapid loss of erection and severe swelling and bruising. “When [patients] present to their doctor their penis often looks like an eggplant,”

Moved to lounge but couldn’t pass up a chance for Risk talk.

if you were a true Risk aficionado you would know that the first step is to claim Australia, marshal resources there and then branch out.

Australia is a trap. You start in South America and then take Africa.

This is my actual preferred approach.

I tend to agree Australia can be a trap or playing for second place. It’s true anytime you get to final three but you have to depend on the other two duking it out enough to have a chance in the end game. Even at that point, I think the troop count isn’t enough. Smart players would take time to move to the end game as they should be replenishing troops each turn faster.

I was always greedy and bold....(and stupid). I tried to secure Asia. big freaking mistake. talk about spreading your resources.
Yea, I’d say you usually need to play Asia not to secure but cover on a turn when something chaotic is going on and hope the other players won’t get around to taking on Asia country either due to the direction or hoping someone else will cover it. There’s a lot of unsaid cooperation in that game that I love. Everyone is out for themselves but if you play too selfish, people will start focusing on you.

I can’t really remember what strategy I stuck with. Haven’t played in a few years but it was a great game to play online or mobile. Different game types like fog the map you aren’t near was cool as well

Do you have the Risk mobile app? It's great.

Use to when I played. First there was a desktop game that was far older. Looked like it was developed with MSpaint but worked great. Didn’t find the mobile one til a few years later and was way better. Computer is so much better than physical board just for the speed aspect. You also avoid pissing off any RL friends when deciding who to attack near the end of the game.

Yeah I had the old desktop game too. Great soundtrack. You like Axis and Allies too?

Never played it. There’s a few board games I missed out on. Never played settlers of catan either. Some people play CIV on here too and I keep telling myself I should pick that up but never find the time. I think I actually bought it months ago but hadn’t done the tutorial yet.
