Is anyone following the track-and-field World Championship in Doha?

It's a shame. I feel bad for these athletes, they've been sold out. Brutal heat, empty stadiums, no fans.

In 1993, I was at the WC in my hometown. 60,000 fans for 8 days straight. Incredible atmosphere. Check out some YouTube vids from then and check the Doha coverage.

Yeah, athletics is easily on par with combat sports for me and the biennial World Championship(s) are as high of a level as it gets in terms of prestige and competition. The IAAF and Qatar are a disgrace for this.

And again. For the term gay to be an insult. The person being called gay really does need to think the term is derogatory. You and I obviously do not. I can understand it being different for others. Especially young children where mob mentality reigns.

I commend you for not taking the bait. I tend to at times. What I think this shows is both sides have their low lifes who throw out terms to try to goat others.
