I didn't give him a chance for a long time. I found his stand up lacking, but I haven't seen his early work, so it's hard to judge someone from a comic standpoint once they start transitioning towards other comic mediums. He has of late though, been killing it on the Daily Show, the writers found his timing, and as far as the Dem debates go they've been the most impartial and insightful oddly enough.

His early stuff that I've seen is long boring stories that try to be poignant with not-very-funny humor mixed in. I agree he's improving and I can see it because I never watch his stuff, so a long time goes by between seeing him.
