Wanderlei Silva vs Cung Le

For some reason Wand resorted that night to his best weapon, for some reason the only post Pride fight he did this, his knees and that won him the fight

I was sad we didn't see more of cung le and that he didn't come to ufc a bit earlier.

Yep. Looking at some of his early MMA fights you can see the speed difference between 28 year old Cung and 35 year old Cung. It's a shame he didn't switch to MMA earlier.

Count how many times you see me in that video. I'm sitting front row with Shogun's camp. My avatar picture is from that night. Easy to spot.

Yeah his the type of fighter who doesn't age well.

Cung Le must not have cut any weight at all.

Easily the best night for MMA. Having multiple screens pays off though none of the best fights overlapped. Seeing Wand land knees from the clinch again was fucking awesome. Too bad it was Cung Le.

Hell yeah. You can see me right there in that clip. :)

One of my fav events to watch, a night I will never forget. Watched at a bar and the energy in the co main and main was insane. The only regret I have about this night was the Shogun/Hendo outcome. One of the greatest fights ever, but being a Shogun fan it would have meant so much more to have Shogun win that one. I remember watching round 5 and Shogun dominating and hoping he'd finish. And I thought to myself, Shogun wins it will be a night that will be magic, if he loses the decision I'll always think what could have been, and I think that to this day.

Awesome fight by Wanderlei!!

And then you had dumbass Joe Rogan crying about the stoppage. One of the worse and most bias commentary. He was riding Cung the whole fight. Rogan calls it a bad stoppage and then in the replay says Cung is fighting back and going for a takedown lol. More like getting his ass kicked with like 25 unanswered strikes, getting dropped and holding onto a leg.

Is Cung Le possibly the greatest traditional Martial Artist, that actually did a couple movies and film first before join the MMA world? feels like it to me.

Cung was one of the most entertaining fighters to ever compete. His fights were always awesome.

Wand had some other fantastic brawls in the UFC, like against Bisping, and both Franklin fights... but since there was no finishes, and Wand lost both of the Aces fights (I thought the first one was the perfect example of a draw, but whatever) they don't get mentioned a lot.

Both guys almost got finished in their second battle (Franklin said he went out at the end of the second round, and got woken up by Wand's GnP making his head bounce on the canvas)

People mostly remember the Chuck, Jardine, Cung Le, and Stann fights.

(And try to forget the Chris Leben one :D)
Rampage III was important for Jackson's career revival, but the cheap shots after the KO while the ref was trying to drag Quinton away kinda left a bad taste...

Both legends respectively even before each of them came to the ufc.

I remember being torn between who I wanted to see win that one since I really was a fan of both. It was a good fight and during a good time.

The Stann fight was amazing, they were both swinging for the fences and Wanderlei got dropped like 3 times but came back

Both Franklin fights were absolutely great.
