Wand would have KO'ed Fedor! Boooom!I wonder if PRIDE would have eventually matched up Wand and Fedor if they had kept winning.
There was always rumors about making that fight

Unfortunatey, we got this highly anticipated fight 5 years too late. Both men knocked from their lofty pedestals and not in their primes anymore. Wanderlei has basically been Knocked out cold badly twice in the year of this fight, and Chuck was coming off two losses. Wand comin from PRIDE and makin his UFC DEBUT.
Notably Wanderlei only boxed with Chuck, and in that area Chuck's superior range and Wandy kind of playing into his style anyway, busted Wanderlei up....but both men showed alot of heart and grit.
How did you feel about this fight at the time?
He just boxed with Chuck
No kicks. No knees. No clinch takedowns
It wasnt Wand's usual self
Now you listen here, Frode Falch!Wand was never a good kicker. He would win by wild aggression, wild roid rage windmill punches, and GTA style thug stomps.
He had some good, but very basic knees from a simple version of the thai clinch. But nothing like Anderson Silva had.
He would not have done well in the clinch against Chuck.
Now you listen here, Frode Falch!
He don't have to be a good kicker. He still used them. If you not gonna check em, he's gonna land them on you. He used them to good effect against Rampage in more than one of their fights
Knees aren't complicated. They don't need to be fancy. He also coulda tripped him down like he did Hunt. He could have tried.
Yeah, not so sure it isn't the other way around. Prime Wandy smashed the guy twice that smashed Chuck twice.Prime Chuck is a nightmare matchup for Wanderlei.
I don't remember someone ever effectively clinching Chuck outside of Randy in their first fight and Chuck is a wrestler with hard elbows so clinching him is generally a bad idea. I've also never seen someone hurt Chuck with low kicks except Shogun. Now you listen here, Frode Falch!

There was a time he was far more technical, watch the first Cro Cop fight for reference. His striking started to devolve in 2005.Maybe that was Wanderlei’s gamelan? Who knows, but his striking hands wise has always always been sloppy wide hooks. He never ever established a jab or thrown a cross to save his life. I stick with what I said, Chuck Liddell beats him the Octagon, in the Ring he would have more of a difficult time but eventually win.
SO True, and when he nailed those, most people would just crumble. He would win by wild aggression, wild roid rage windmill punches, and GTA style thug stomps.
Very different styles. Chuck was loose and long with punches and Wandy loved to swing. Rampage preferred a tight guard and short punches, mostly hooks, which didn't take advantage of Wandy's openings. Chuck would have knocked his fucking head off with shots straight down the pipe. Wandy almost got KO'd by Shungo Oyama that way ffs, lmao.Yeah, not so sure it isn't the other way around. Prime Wandy smashed the guy twice that smashed Chuck twice.
Right, but again, Wandy twice KOd the guy that KOd Chuck twice FFS. That seems much more relevant than someone that "almost" beat somebody.Wandy almost got KO'd by Shungo Oyama that way ffs, lmao.
Thats what I'm saying!Thats a lot of could have should have
It's not false advertising. He DID want to fuck chuck, he just wasnt able to achieve penetration on this night. Was all false advertisement imo.
Wanderlei said right in the cage "i want to f@*k Chuck" and we never got to see that.
No homo
OK maybe a little.
