Media Walt Harris calls out Derrick Lewis

This would be a good fight if it happens. Derrick Lewis hasn't looked good his last few fights against top contenders so he needs a step down in competition.

Walt has been out of action for a while and on a losing streak. This one probably isn't going the distance.

Lewis/Rozenstruik is the fight to make, they will both bang

Both Lewis and Rozenstruik are counter punchers. I too want to see that fight, but I also won't be shocked if it ends up looking like the Ngannou vs Lewis fight. Rozenstruik is known for low output and Derrick Lewis could be a little gun shy after being finished in his last three fights and four of his last five.

I didn't realize that Walt Harris was almost 40. He hasn't fought in two years and got knocked out in his last three fights, so I imagine the UFC would love to book him against Derrick.

Walt Harris is a prime example of how bad the UFC HW division has been. Dude has been in the UFC for 10 years and achieved literally nothing lol. How is he still on the roster?

After training with Bones, he'll probably wrassle the brakes off Black Beast.

Well he KO'd Alexey Oleynik in 12 seconds. Also, I think he's getting a bit of a leeway because of what happened to his step daughter, which is perfectly understandable.

This makes a lot of sense. Having a feeling Walt would KO him

He was ranked and on a win streak with a lot of finishes until 2019 when, y'know, his stepdaughter got kidnapped and murdered in a case that made national news and which Dana hinself donated money to. Between facing tougher competition and an apparent mental check-out after that incident, he went on a skid.

The UFC is keeping him around for at least one more fight I think. I don't blame them. Would've looked bad under the circumstances if they had cut him loose immediately after those three losses. Heavyweight isn't the deepest division and they've held onto guys who have accomplished less for longer.

You can make it seem however you'd like. He's 6-9 in the UFC in 10 years and he's also popped for steroids' in the middle of that win streak you mentioned. I obviously know about his step daughter, don't get why you are trying to throw that in my face. The dude is ass and should have been released a long time ago

Yeah and the win he popped for got turned into an NC (which the UFC often seems to ignore anyways). It doesn't invalidate the rest of his Ws. By that logic, Jon Jones' resume would look very different lmao. I'm not "making it seem" any different than it is, I'm just stating the UFC's likely reasoning and you're just getting all up in your feelings about things.

Walt Harris was 6-4 (1) in his current UFC run with a lot of exciting finishes including some over guys like Oleinik and Spivak when his winning streak got badly derailed by better guys and a serious family tragedy. Dana White got himself and the UFC invested in said personal tragedy on a financial & media basis. He's now on a three-fight losing streak and there's a good chance he won't be re-signed regardless of how his next fight ends. The UFC often lets fighters fight out their contracts when feasible; they probably see it as a no-brainer to do so in this situation considering the narrative involved, especially when HW has zero names to speak of. At least Harris will go out and bang on the undercard despite not being a very good fighter. Again, the company has kept fighters around longer off worse losing streaks.

Again, it's more nonsense lol. If he was 6-4 in his current run, he was 0-5 in his previous run which was only separated by 1 fight outside the UFC. What happened with his daughter should have no bearing on if he stays in now he's been finished twice since then and looked terrible in the process. Also lmaoo and the Jon comment. Take away the one NC which is the only actually fight he popped in, and Jon's resume is still the top 3 of all time. Even if you give Walt that late career Arvlowski win, he still is worse than a lot of HW's

Weird match up.
At the peak of their games Lewis probably wins 9/10 times but with there always being a chance Harris could just Shawn Jordan his way to a win and land some quick strike.

Issue is Lewis looked bad against Spivak and quit. Harris training with Jon might just land an early takedown and have this weird mentally weak Lewis give up.
