If I felt like it I could find tons of title challengers that had similar runs or far easier runs to a title shot than Conor, but here are a few.
Chris Caraiso beat:
Louis Smolka
Danny Martinez
Illarde Santos
Eddie Wineland beat:
Brad Pickett
Scott Jorgenson, and previously lost to Benavidez and Faber
I could go on for a long time; often title challengers don't have an impressive run to the shot. I do think Frankie should've gotten the next shot, but Conor has had one hell of an impressive run.
