Waitress assaults customers for not tipping

I can’t believe this system of discretionary payment based on what the customer deems worthy is so widely accepted still
I agree tipping is an arbitrary and stupid system. It is bad on both sides because it leads to tip entitlement from the servers like in the OP.

Instead of yelling she should have recorded them & put them on social media so that the general public would shame them. I don't blame her for getting upset but yelling at the cheap skates is not the way to do it.
^^^^Again this is part of the problem with tip culture you should not shame, slander people and ruin their lives for not tipping. that is blackmail for tip money.

When will people realize tipping is someones choice. Their base pay is what they need to rely on. Thats the reality.
A lot of the people in this thread seem to forget tipping is not mandatory but anyone dumb enough to be for tip culture is going to forget these details

Living in europe, eating out is so much better without the bullshit tip culture. Prices include taxes and tipping is just reasonable and not expected.

Its not just the extra money you've gotta shell out for the actual tips, its the whole song and dance before the tip. If im out for a meal, I just want proficient and effective service from the staff in exchange for a decent wage paid by their employer.

I dont need to be titilated and flirted with by some tarted up skank in a pushup bra while im trying to enjoy a meal so she can squeeze me for 20 bucks.

The whole pseudo prostitution aspect of tipping culture is the worst part.

How lonely and pathetic are you dorks that you've gotta dangle the prospect of an extra 20 bucks in front of some young woman so she'll be nice to you while you suck down some chicken wings.

The "song and dance" from servers is creepy it is basically like a smaller scale version of what a stripper does for tips.

Christ this place is Facebook boomers now. Falling for dumb AI like this

Black people have it right not tipping everyone else is just virtue signaling with their tipping and thinking it is classy to get ripped off tipping.
Do people who go around trying to negotiate better prices have it right too? I hate that shit. We have our way of doing things, if you know what the mores are and where and you don't like it, take your money elsewhere. I like tipping people and people have always seemed to like tipping me, I never made a big deal about either. When I used to do moves and labor it was typical for people to pay around twice what I asked, appreciated but not necessary. There were times when people also didn't have quite enough to pay, I'd still finish out the jobs if I felt they were sincere. Then, there were the scamming fucks who tried to always get around shit, pay less, put it off, they just better hope they don't run into the many loose cannons out there that'll kill them over trivial shit like that.

I'm just waiting to see many more of these pop up next summer when millions of foreign tourists come to the US for the first time for the world cup and have to deal with tipping for the very first time
My wife worked as a waitress temporarily a few years ago. The restaurant was next to the office where immigrants got there citizenship. They would come to the restaurant to celebrate with their family and witnesses and would very rarely tip. Such a happy day for them and not so good for the wait staff

I would feel like shit not leaving a tip if I ordered alot and good service.

This is because you have been brainwashed into this sentiment by boomers. they should provide good service anyway without
any caveat just because you pay for the food.

I tip but if I don't go fuck yourself, entitled cunts

That's part of the problem servers are brainwashed to think like this. It is why we need to eliminate tip culture.

Tipping, AI, "non prison" court ordered work programs, all just ways for businesses to avoid paying workers.
