Social Wait, What? Australia is a Country?

Australia is pretty much the physical size of the US.

Overly scam them? How about not scam them at all and I teach to like 600 students/year. I even have review sessions outside of class for free.

STEM class.

I'm saying that requiring students to buy your book is overtly scamming them...which you don't. I realize that there are great professors out there....you may very well be one of them. College is still a scam, in general.

The point is, they just don't by my book, they don't buy ANY book.

Thanks.

Australia is a hellhole filled with critters that want to kill you. No other place on earth has more deadly bugs, reptiles and sea creatures that are so toxic they can kill you instantly. Fuck Australia, it's a god damn death trap.

:)
So much for being a PhD.
"Southern New Hampshire University has replaced an online adjunct professor who initially failed a student’s assignment because the professor thought Australia wasn’t a country."
What an idiot!
Probably thought that Vatican City was also not a country.

Thats great. Need more like you

Yeah, and about 5 years the ago the University wanted to give some money to encourage faculty to reduce cost to the students. So, I was like cool, I've saved students $1 million+ over the years, I'll take some money from the University. They wanted me to write an eBook that the University would have the rights to it. Screw that...

I’ll accept it.

But isn’t southern New Hampshire university an online school? Or do they just also have like an online annex?
Edit: apparently it is a real school.

It’s shocking to me a college professor could be that stupid. My guess is he won’t be a college professor for long.

All of my professors in college, save for one or two, were really incredibly smart. They were brilliant people really. And I think most are very smart at the very least. But of course there are some dummies who somehow get through a PhD program and are able to get a job teaching. But that has to be rare.
His/Her main problem is arrogance. Suppose by some biographical fluke, the professor never came across the tidbit that Australia is both a country and a continent. If they simply had a normal mentality they would have become startled and curious the instant the student challenged them. In less than a minute, Google would have revealed the truth. There would have then followed a mea culpa, some private embarrassment, end of story.

In high school during the Pre-Internet Era, I was once frustrated by a teacher who refused to believe that spiders are not insects. I had no practical way to prove it to her and nothing important rested on the matter, so I just let it drop. In this instance, it was an English teacher. While she couldn't be expected to be an expert in science, I still thought she should have known that factoid.

Aussieland is a hoax.

You're an idiot to fail a student on one simple mistake alone.

Also, people still ignorantly call Africa a country at a disappointing frequency.

Europe too.

I always thought it was both a country/nation and a continent. Am I wrong?
Australasia includes New Guinea and New Zealand, plus associated islands.
Australia is a country, as is the others mentioned.
