Wait, JDS throws kicks?!

I remember him throwing two head kicks against Carwin and one against Yvel... he also used his knees very well on Crocop.

There was a video of him mimicking Pettis' fence kick in the gym but I think it got removed from YouTube for some reason.

EDIT: Nevermind, somebody posted the gif a couple pages back.

The kick was weak. Hunto was probably already KO'd from the first punch but the signals just hadn't reached his legs yet.

Thinking back on it I remember Genki threw a lot of spinning shit as well.

He did, but Sakuraba's use of spinning kicks predated even Genki Sudo.

How was it weak? It was a 250 pound man throwing a spin kick, theres going to be a lot of weight behind the kick

It doesn't surprise me that he's added kicks to his game. I'd like to see him throw more knees, too. In his previous fight with Cain, it was crying out for some knees and kicks to give Cain something else to worry about, rather than the standard boxing he had nullified. That was a big weakness in any future fight he'd have with Cain, so I'm glad he's improved.

Agreed. Cain is too smart to get hit by another haymaker like that again. JDS needs to keep diversifying if he wants to beat Cain. I say he has a shot!

The kick looked like it just grazed the top of his head and knocked him off balance when combined with Hunt's sideways rolling action. Hard to see how he could have KO'd hunt with the kick. I noticed that the follow up punch actually bounced Hunt's head off the mat though. Regardless, it was a bad night for poor Mark Hunt's brain.
