one of the issues with gif competitions is video editing, because those with experience in it have a huge advantage over those who don't, and we do have the International Shoop League and shoop threads in general to share created gifs in.

this non-gif format levels the playing field somewhat, and we even allowed a talented paint MS artist to enter which spiced up the opening round somewhat. Was pretty cool bring all these styles together. The time constraints also mean gifs are generally inferior quality, plus we want to share our entries soon after an event rather than a week later when another event may be happening, or about to happen

you know I'd never say that but I do agree that I'm a boss, a position I'm very happy to be in

learnt a ton of new useful stuff creating these recent shoops and my process has improved considerably, further highlighting that these competitions are great (even just from that perspective)
