Volkov overated AF or Gane that good ?

Gane was the one controlling the cage, pushing the pace, landing more. Volkov except in few exchange never advanced. 50-45 is fair, 49-46 is acceptable. Don't know what you sa tonight man

Volkov clearly won round one. So I am curious on what kind of math they used to get a 50-45. Two other rounds were fairly close. Gane clearly won two rounds and won the fight though.

How can Swolkov goes from Masterfull performance against Overeem where he looks sensational in striking, pressure, precision and power to Gane where he did nothing but some leg kicks in the first ?
Gane is that good. I can't remember the last heavyweight fighter who gets more active and agressive as the fight goes. His punches looked faster in the last round than in the first.

Volkovs had how many fights in the ufc? 20? Can you be overrated at that point? We've seen him fight all the top guys, he is who he is. He's very good, maybe not champ level but very good.
Yeah I saw him went the distance and getting out-speed by Greg Hardy

<PlusJuan>
Volkov has lost only a single striking battle before this fight and that was the Lewis fight, where he got caught after absolutely demolishing Lewis.

That was a highly impressive performance from Ciryl tonight.
He lost the striking battle against minikov

Neither. HW division is so thin and lacking in talent. Almost every fighter in the division is a one trick pony. These guys can all beat each other with nobody having anything other than striking as their battleplan. The is why Ngannou beat Stipe beat Cormier beat Stipe beat Ngannou on recent belt fights.

Fair enough, but Volkov was only 25 years old, whereas Minakov was in his prime.

Also, how did i never hear about Minakov? The guy, although old, is 22-1 with 20 wins coming by finish.
Crazy stuff actually.

Id like to see Gane vs Boser 2, I know it’ll never happen due to rankings but Boser has a similar style and a high output when he’s on his game

IMO Volkov is a bully. If he feels he's winning he lays it on and gets in the zone. When it's even or he's losing he looks like a lost child.

Both. Volkov isn't as good of a striker as people make him out to be, he's only a top notch talent by modern HW/LHW standards. Gane is legitimately really good.

2 rounds to 3. The fourth and second were close. Volkov got the nod as he landed the harder cleaner shots.

the first two should go to volkov. The commentating team made it sound like round one was close when volkov landed almost double than him. And th booth is saying it’s an easy game round.

I know it’s hard to know what you’re watching when commentators Ohhh and ahhh at one guy.

round 4 could have went to volkov. The winner doesn’t matter to me. It was a close fight.

50-45. Is as bad as it gets for a scorecard. There also should have been a point deduction. Close fight.

Rd 2, 3 and 5 were clearly for gane, the other 2 are close.
48/47 is the best i can give to volkov.
Striking is judged as a whole, we take into account numbers and impact, impact was never on volkov side tonight.
The victory is clear for gane there despite the fact he was still a little too timid tonight

I thought 1 and 2 were volkov. Nobody hurt each other. My point is this wasn’t a masterclass. It was a close fight.
The winner doesn’t matter to me. It was a close fight and no winner career trajectory wise for either with performances like this.

Im glad you educated me on how fights are scored. I wasn’t really sure and haven’t watched let alone participated.
I just started watching last summer.
