Volka really is a bit like GSP in my view :
he works really hard, he doesn't cut corners, he doesn't take any opponents lightly and he has a SPECIFIC gameplan for each opponent, that is fairly obvious.
He brings in the right training partners to simulate next opponent, he is quite cerebral & analytical, a student of the game, he is a company man, articulate and always shows up and wants to fight often.
- and there's no drama with him, family man, he doesn't feature on TMZ.com too often!

He is the complete package, re-defines professionalism. No prima donna bullshit with that guy.
Plus he is really quite a likeable guy.

FOR ME.....its about skill and also who you faced. I truly dont think the WWs that GSP was beating up on ( or bloated LWS) were nearly on the level as current day fighters. I think also happen to think that khabib is a BETTER FIGHTER. he retired before he could acomplish more but lets be real, who was stopping him? was Khabib gonna be losing anytime soon? i dont know if you ever lost a best friend thts your dad before but it changes everything. So me personally i dont hold it against him for leaving when he did.



GSP on the other hand......he left right after some awkward ass emials went out and new stipulations came to the UFC. Im not suggesting anything, im basing my position of IN CAGE SKILL. NOt on accumlation of stats. I think there is no 145 IN THE HISTORY OF THE SPORT..that can fuck with VOLK....GSP lost his belt to a retired LW.....i just think khabib is/was more sKILLED than GSP. who was actually way ahead of his time and super athletic. I love gSP too.....but i personally think SKILL in cage volk is better. GSP woulda tapped to ortega we can agree (if he woulda been caught in a sub, we saw him tap...to both subs and punches). its just an opnion sir lol.

im talking about in cage skill. I dont think he has surpassed Khabib in that regard yet. If we are basing this off pure acomplishments then hes not ahead of either guy. GSP had the belt for over 2k days lol... IM talking about on fight night who was better respectively. REALLY loook at GSPS fights. he tapped to strikes, he tapped to a sub, he faced multiple LWs who moved up. Dan hardy? Thiago ALves? sure some of his wins were epic....i just dont think he was as bad ass as VOLK. I dont lol. and thats just a complment to how good volk is...im not hating on GSP at all lol.

He has 3 top 5 level wins, of which two are not considered championship level, also all 3 tailored for him with little to no ground game… You are doing a disservice to real champions who fought every style for who knows how many years on top. Khabib is big what if and that is the biggest thing he can be to any MMA fan who has respect towards true goats of the sport who have been tested at the top longer than Khabib was in UFC.

Volk is already few levels above him in pretty much everything.
