Volk should retire.

If he takes 1 or a few million to fight a wrestler like Evloev, who is not going to give him CTE or induce an injury that will keep him out for a year, it seems like a good move. The worst-case scenario is to lose by decision and having to fight in a title shot eliminator

I'd love to see Volk ride off into the sunset with the belt but I think he'll keep going until he's not championship level, unfortunately.

Evloev has never finished a UFC fight. No rush to retire unless you're getting sparked by guys you shouldn't be.

Volk looked good, didn't take much damage and won championship again.

Might be smart for his health to retire now, but I think he should defend the belt at least 1 or 2 times.

For his legacy, and our entertainment

Evloev would be a low risk, high reward fight for Volk. Most importantly Evloev poses a very low chance of damaging him or finishing him. Volk gets to take his 0 away. Evloev likely never sniffs a title shot again. Nothing but upside for Volk and the fans.

Why does anyone fight? For the fame and $.
The all say they fight for money but its just to cover up the fact that they love fighting even though its a shit profession. At least this is why I think guys like Volk fight.

Volk should but he won't. These guys fight for money and purpose. Most champions end with forced retirements at the UFCs hand

I get what you are saying, I do like it when fighters retire closer to their peak, however, I do think he's potentially a nightmare matchup for Evloev and could beat him down really bad. Maybe he should shoot for that fight & then retire?

I think him fighting someone else with more finishing ability might be a bit too risky.
