People love to parrot this "curse" on the internet for some reason and its always been a garbage theory that meant nothing and just gave people ammunition to say "I was right". If Alex listened to the internet he would be in a nursing home with 24/7 brain monitoring because "he is 37 and was knocked out"Yea he did, but I think TS is specifically talking about in the lighter weight classes.
It was PrideFC fan girls that set the trend of fighters be washed at 33, when Fedor & Cro Cop starting losing that was their go to excuse and it’s still being used to this day, except modern fighters nowadays are obliterating that notion of a athletes competitive age and it’s trending towards 32-37yrs old.

Eh. Those guys still have something in the tank, they just aren't what they were.Jose Aldo was considered washed close to a decade, yet moved to another weight, competitive with wins agwinst ranked fighters and losses against the top ranked fighters who eventually became champions themselves, while Aldo was close a few times whilst not getting obliterated like what everyone though he would be post Conor Mcgregor bout.
People are just too quick to count them out without ever giving them a chance.
Look at Adesanya, a few losses and he’s considered washed already. He still got, just like Volkanovski still got it, just like the Holloways, Gaethjes, Poiriers, Olivieiras all still got it. Makhachev, Pantoja and Merab are circling close to that “35” cut off date that everyone loves to use, yet are still looking amazing,
I really hope more fans start to realize that fighters shouldn’t be casted aside after a few losses, need to overall look at the people they’re losing to and their performances in those bouts.
I’ve been saying to this for a while and I’ve gotten called an idiot for even the idea that’s fighters are still great post 35.
Heavier weight classes are different. Boxing has always been like that, too. You'll never find a George Foreman mid-40s comeback at Flyweight.didn’t Randy Couture do this like 20 years ago?
That remains to be seen. Izzy is 35 which isn't that old for a MW. Anderson was champ until 38. But Izzy is 1-4 in his last 5 fights. I'll believe he's "still got it" when he beats a Top 5 guy again.Look at Adesanya, a few losses and he’s considered washed already. He still got, just like Volkanovski still got it,
