X-Men was about a group of people who were discriminated against because of the way they were born. Writing a comic in support of discriminated people and drawing inspiration from real people affected by it is 100% “woke.”You don't know the difference between a property later interpreted as a metaphor, and a property created as a metaphor.
By the way, don't bring up the claim X-Men was created to be against homophobia. You'll lose harder on it than you're losing on this 'X-Men was woke in the 1960s' narrative.
It’s why Stan Lee, the creator, said that it was a good metaphor for the civil rights movement.
Who the fuck is talking about it being created about homophobia? You make up scenarios in your head and argue them constantly lmao.
Its genesis has lent itself to sticking up for and representing all kinds of marginalized groups because that’s what the creator had in mind when he wrote the fucking things.
