I'm super cynical too, and enjoy watching woke shit get ripped to pieces from time to time. However, I couldn't imagine making a living off of covering the same DEI trash multiple times a day, then live streaming the same talking points regularly for super chats.

I guess It's no different than working at some news station, or political YT channels covering bad news constantly in their partisan way, as train wrecks and echo chambers can sell. You're constantly looking for disasters, or embellishing them. It must be depressing.

I like this guy's channel (RK Outpost) in small doses, as his takes me laugh, but jeeeesus imagine this is your work day, and multiple hours of live streaming per week. I personally prefer long form positive retrospectives on media, but those take time and skill.

Three quarters(and a Quartering) of these guys, just create simple yet spicy thumbnails, write a basic introduction(if that), and then just read articles from other sources for a few minutes. Unless they're a one man show, they have teams that do the real work for them. The hosts are chilling.

It would only be depressing if they took it seriously, which I'd wager a lot of them don't. They just become a brand after a while, and then worry about their real competition, which ain't the "Chuds" or the "Libtards". It's the people doing the same shit they're doing. There are definitely far worse ways to make money lol. I highly doubt RK Outpost takes it seriously at all, but it's enough work to put a few videos out a day, along with several live streams. That representation of gender, sexual orientation and ethnicity in all aspects of life must be 1:1 with their real world percentages. So for instance if 10% of your population is Mexican. One out of ten employees must be Mexican.

Things such as regulating speech which includes cancellation is just a tactic used to achieve this outcome.

'Woke' creatives at Marvel Comics, Sweet Baby Gang (who wrote the script), and Sony/Hollywood would love Miles to replace Peter within more mediums, but the sales for Miles in comics and games aren't there, and no matter how hard they try Peter playing 2nd fiddle to Miles will not play well for the fans.

On Twitter, is a reflection of your idealogy on the subject if you back #PeterParkerIsSpiderMan or #MilesMoralesIsSpiderMan.

Just like how they're trying to get Falcon to replace Brett Rogers as Captain America in the MCU, and many fans aren't following along to the point the next 'Captain America' movie is currently in reshoots for a 3rd time. Production is a complete clusterfuck and its guaranteed to suck.

The sad thing is, Miles Morales doesn't need the Spider-Man name narratively. He could branch out into his own thing... kinda like how one of Batman's Robins dropped the name and became NightWing. But for some reason the powers-at-be want to keep Miles from doing something independent and they want him to inherrit the Spider-Man name.

- Well you have to have someone beat Peter in the Vemon suit. Miles does it using Vemon's weakness. If he did it without using Venom's weakness then I would agree but that's not what happens.
- I saw this more as Peter wanting to take a break which was always a sub issue in the comics\show. Where Peter can never balance his personal life and work life. Now he has Miles and can lean on him more.

I kind of did see it as them setting up Miles to replace Peter but honestly I don't mind it. I used to hate the Spiderverse shit and trying to replace Peter but they've done a good job at writing the other characters IMO. I also thought Spiderverse movie was incredible which helped me like Miles even more.

I at least understand peoples attachment to Peter and not wanting him to go away that makes sense to me. I felt the same way before the Spiderverse movie. Miles though IMO is just a lot more fun to play than Peter at this point and that's really going to be the main issue. Even with the venom suit Miles still felt better to play as. As I said I haven't played it myself, and only going off what I've heard, so if that's a mute point then I guess that was an exaggeration from whom I heard it from.

We shall see the importance of Peter's role in future games. Perhaps you're correct and they'll be a 50/50 team, but from the cutscenes I saw it seemed like more than that.

But I have a feeling Insomiac wants to keep their sales numbers high, especially with the supposed $300 million budget for the recent game, and not go back to the sales of the 'Miles Morales' PS5 launch title that only sold half the units of the 2018 Spider-Man game.

So time will tell.

I kind of did see it as them setting up Miles to replace Peter but honestly I don't mind it. I used to hate the Spiderverse shit and trying to replace Peter but they've done a good job at writing the other characters IMO. I also thought Spiderverse movie was incredible which helped me like Miles even more.

As a huge fan of the Ultimate Spider-Man comics I've despised Miles because they killed off Peter and introduced Miles to replace him.

That said, the absolute BEST portrayal of Miles was 'Into The Spiderverse.' I literally have no complaints with Miles being a rookie superhero and learning from a jaded Peter.

Haven't seen the sequel, but I probably will as the 3rd movie is getting closer to being released.

I look at this way... new minority characters inheriting the mantle of popular white characters is a form of tokenism. They're basically admitting the black character can't be popular through their own merrits and individuality and must be given the name & costume of a more popular character in the hopes the popularity transfers over... and that never works in the dozens of attempts.

Spawn was the #1 most successful independent comic book series of the 90s.
Blade's 1998 movie achieved a success that gave Hollywood the confidence to put in production the 2000 X-Men movie, which greenlit the 2002 Spider-Man movie, numerous other independent comic book films throughout the 2000s like Hellboy, and eventually the MCU.

But apparently they can't/won't develop their own new black super hero characters now.
