Hey guys.

So me and my girlfriend have watched the first three seasons of Vikings. And we loved it. I actually liked it better then game of Thrones.

However we stopped after finishing season 3. Seems like every review on IMDB says that the quality goes down the toilet after season 3

Is this true?

Been a while but I do remember a pretty big drop off in quality and "must see" and I stopped watching.

Can't remember when exactly.

I finished the show. Last season maybe is not as good but it still watchable.

Don't look reviews bro.. everytime I do that I end up watching nothing lol.
I ended up watching the whole series and the spinnoff Vikings: Valhalla.

Valhalla was better than the later seasons of the original but not close to the first few seasons of the original.

Yeah it might not have been as good as the first season but it's not like it was a Game of Thrones level drop off

I still enjoyed season 4. It was season 5 that I stopped watching as I just wasn’t feeling it anymore.

It might not have been as bad a drop but I was watching as they were released weekly and at some point in the later seasons where if I'd miss an episode it stopped mattering.

Pretty sure it was after:
They invaded France and Rollo got married, then it became more about Ragnars kids and while Ivar was pretty savage and Bjiorn was an OG, the rest werent doing it for me

I quit watching in first or 2nd season

Btw watch last kingdom by far best viking related show out there and one of best shows on netflix, actually has realistic fight scenes with people using formations and shields

If I remember correctly it starts sucking around S3 or S4 when Ragnar becomes a junkie.

It dropped off a bit, but still better than 95% of shows.

What got to me most was how they changed historical figures.... like
Ragnar and Rollo were not brothers, hell, they were alive like 200 years apart or something.
Ragnar and Lagertha did not have children together. Still loved the show though.

I remember thinking the Rollo takes over Normandy plotline was pretty wild then looked up the history and it was one of the shows more historically accurate plotlines.

Hell, William the Conqueror was descendent of Rollo.

First 3 are great an likely best . Season 4 is decent. After the the great Heathen Army arch is when it drops off a cliff.

My only issue with show ita it's mostly fiction an they do t e en try an keep ot true to history. For I stance Rollo is not Ragnars brother and came along waaay after Ragnar.

A show similar I like even better is The Last Kingdom a few folks from Vimings are in it as it's set in basically same location an time - hoqe er TLK u like C
Vikings at least. Makes an effort to be somewhat historical even if the main character is mostly fictional.

Yeah I never finished it. Loved the first 3 or so seasons, even though it pushed a lot of fake Viking tropes and aesthetics.

It's likely bullshit, but oddly I was able to trace my grandmothers family tree on her Swedish side to Ragnar and on her English side to Rolo. I was like WTF?

Is there for the lack of better world campus left bs in that?
I think the only thing that is stupid is that they they act like female warriors were commonplace which is false. But that was in the original series too and a black lady as a Jarl.

There was literally never a woman that was a jarl and the only black folks among them would have been slaves. People try to say she was based on the Sami people but Sami people are not black, they are white people with slightly darker complexion like Spaniards or Italians can be.

Thanks. I would feel dirty looking into it at Kiwifarms.

As others have said. It does drop off a bit but it’s still great IMO. Some of the side stories get lame but I’d watch it and watch Valhalla. And watch last Kingdom.
