I work as an expat in KSA and can say unreservedly that 90% of the expats know nothing about Islam or Muslims despite having lived there for over a decade. Just because someone resides there doesn't mean anything in the slightest.

KSA isn't UAE. In KSA the Western expats , the reasonably well off ones, live in compounds. The Asians live amongst everyone else but the locals self segregate. KSA treats its expats far far worse than UAE. The locals do self segregate int he UAE but they aren't the only Muslims.

If you actually attended grade school , middle school and high school with people there then yes you would have close interaction with Muslims. As someone who just works there you would not have this kind of personal experience.

Our largest source of Crude Oil is Canada.
