Social Victoria Secret Performance

I think you're on to something. Our forum's very own @lsa buys lingerie and wears it to work, makes him feel sexy so more power to him I suppose.

liar!
you know I wear nothing while at work!

Nah, fat or ugly women don't want to be reminded they are fat or ugly, they want to believe they can look at least somewhat like those modeling a product. I think there's a point of "thickness" that is the line even for them, you go beyond that and you ruin the illusion. It's the advertising agencies and the like are trying these new tactics out and it's not selling like the old tactics from what I know.
It's no different for dudes, you don't want some low-t dweeb selling you on workout supplements, or trucks, or tools.
Plus women will tell other women they look good all the time and then shit talk them behind their backs; they will pull a Miss Benita Butrell.
Point of reference.

I think the "aspirational" aspect is indeed one, that increasingly shrinking group of women like when being sold. A "belief" they can and will look like that one day, with regards to using super models. Once upon a time that was the vast majority of women.

BUt i also think those days are largely behind us and many women, who have been lifelong overweight are not aspiring to be fit or thin, and simply do not believe they ever will be and instead want to be told they are beautiful, as they are. They want to know men will drool over them at any size, and we definitely see a lot of men will here and elsewhere.

That is who VS is selling to, as that is the bulk of the populace today in America.

Average American woman is 5’4” and 170 pounds. That’s not thicc that’s fat! VS is just selling to their target audience I guess.
