RDA at welter was always interesting to me. Apparently he's had a hard time cutting to 155 (or is just how he copes with losses there) but man against actual 170'ers those 15 pounds seem like a massive fucking difference. I got Luque by finish if he isn't on a downward spiral.

Reminder RDA is and always will be the fucking true BMF. Never turned down a hard fight

it is a big difference because by the time fight night comes around it's more than likely more than 15lbs.

Luque gets hit way too much. I think RDA takes this one.

I think RDA will shine in this one.
I see him beating luques ass pretty easily.
Luque will be game; but will be unable to keep up.

I picked Luque but I half regretted pressing the button because of RDAs wrestling.

Yeah, Luque sort of reached the Top 5 without ever facing a real wrestling threat except for Michael Graves who dominated much of the fight. After that, Luque didn't really fight too many real wrestlers (minus Muhammad who he KO'd before the guy ever attempted a takedown). He fought a few dudes who are generalists and/or strikers that occasionally mix in takedowns... and a lot of the time they had some measure of success when they tried to take him down or control him against the fence: Edwards, Price, Perry, Brown. Chiesa took him down with ease and took his back before getting ahead of himself and getting Darce'd as he always does. Hell, even Geoff Neal was taking him down. The Muhammad rematch goes without saying.

The question is how RDA -- at this stage in his career -- fits into this. I think he's a very credible wrestler who will probably be able to take Luque down at some point. His submission defense is leagues ahead of that of Chiesa. His size may or may not hold him back. His striking is usually pretty solid; I felt like he had lost a step against Felder in some of the stand-up exchanges but he looked surprisingly good against both Moicano and Fiziev throughout both of those fights all things considered. I could see him doing just enough to stay safe on the feet while going tit-for-tat with Luque before finding his takedowns and grinding out a UD... but I can also see Luque picking his shots and KO'ing him after stuffing/reversing a few takedowns.

One of my concerns (other than RDA's general age/wear-and-tear along with him being undersized for 170) is that he occasionally relies too heavily on looping punches -- hooks in particular. He'll occasionally straighten out his shots and had some success with that against Colby for instance, but a lot of the time he likes to pressure his opponent and light them up with looping punches to the head & body. Against Luque, he'll be playing right into the guy's wheelhouse and Vicente has the reach advantage. He would be well-advised to rely on an educated jab and 1-2, keeping his counters straight as Neal did. Luque does not handle punches coming down the center line well at all, probably due to his total lack of head movement. Both are prolific low-kickers and I imagine that will nullify one another. Not sure who has the better durability at this stage. Historically Luque, but who's to say after the damage he's taken? It's not like RDA is known for being KO'd either. No question who hits harder lol.

Leaning RDA, but I could be persuaded otherwise very easily.

I still remember when people thought that Wonderboy Khamzat or Luque was gonna beat Usman, everyone was calling Luque the dark horse of WW and now he’s no where near a title

The reason why I picked Luque is his last fight.
He got fucked up and I think he's gonna want that one back, and I think he can catch RDA for the reasons that you stated...his looping punches and his need to pressure.

I think he'd be better served working in and out and then going for the takedown.

Im pretty excited either way sir.

Rda has faced every monster available.. damn!

Going luque here.. power is a factor and a size advantage.. won't get subbed and don't really do decisions..

Rda is the better fighter but i suspect luque will walk through everything that is supposed to keep rda at a technical advantage..

Luque by ko..

Luque has the power and size advantage along with a very competent ground game. He's also a far more dangerous striker. This is not a good match up for RDA.

RDA via boring decision

Luque hasn’t looked great recently, hope he can bounce back here

Brazilian on Brazilian crime incoming. Vicente needs this one bad.

Love both guys. I think RDA is overall a better, more well rounded fighter but he's already 38. If RDA hasn't lost any steps, he's got this. If he has, I think Luque will pull through via late finish or a 29-28 war.

Great fight.

Luque can't wrestle. And don't reply to me saying he can. Bzzzzzt wrong. RDA could redo what he did to Magny. Takedown and arm triangle easy no damage win

As much as the BMF belt in a gimmick do you think every weight class should have one and or should it be just a gimmick reward for someone who's not a legit title contender but always been a well bad motherfuker.

RDA via Craftiness

All those tools + 2023 old man strength

I picked the silent ass

I think RDA wins via decision. I think he's going to wear Luque down and I don't think Luque has the TDD, defensive striking and clinch game to keep RDA off him. RDA could fall of a cliff performance wise any day but based on his last fight I think he's still got enough left and RDA matches up well with Luque.
