Let's say The Shield and The Sopranos were set in the same city. And let's say these two decided to tangle (if they ever met, I'm SURE they'd want to kill each other).

Who would come out on top?

They get to use ALL their resources and connections. The Soprano Crew vs the Strike Team. Dirty cops vs the mafia. Both Vic and Tony are as crafty as they come, and deceptively sharp. Both are manipulative as hell and know exactly how to play people. And both guys have ZERO problem getting their hands dirty and fucking people up permanently. And if it ever came down to a straight up hand to hand fight, both guys are tough as nails and it'd be a slobber-knocker.

And in your opinion, which was the better overall show? Imo, The Sopranos was obviously excellent, and at times a nearly perfect show. But The Shield was very, very underrated. That show was raw and as gritty as it gets, and fucking INTENSE. Imo it rivals anything The Sopranos ever did.

Vic Mackey

Agreed. Vic Mackey would tear through the Sopranos like a buzzsaw. Then he'd laugh and fuck Tony's wife. Then he'd tell Tony how her pussy tasted. Then he'd shoot Tony in the face and go steal some Armenian gang's money, right under his captain's nose. Then he'd go hang out with this dude:

never heard of this victoria mackey what show is she from?

my heart still bleeds for ronnie
vic fucked him over good

For real. Vic definitely ended up being the bad guy. I like that. It really wasn't clear throughout the series if you should root for him or not. But I always did....right up until the end. In the end it was pretty clear, he was NOT the good guy, and he was going to fuck up the lives of everyone around him.

Very smart series imo.

The Sopranos were much more real than the near cartoonish Shield stuff.

I wanted so bad for Ronnie to make it out, I really did. Oh and Vic Mackey would take Tony out no problem. The Soprano family would have no idea what lengths he would go to do it. Vic also has law enforcement assets on his side.

Dude you're crazy! The Shield was VERY realistic imo. All the shit they got into was believable, and the ways they got out of those situations were believable as well. Sopranos was realistic too, but not as much as the Shield.

Tony Soprano would come out on top.

Then Walter White would move to Baltimore and Marlo Stanfield would kill him.

Same here. Also felt terrible for Shane. Vic was his mentor, and you could tell Shane looked up to him a lot. Tried to be like him. And damn that was a bad choice. Vic ended up destroying his life....and his family's lives. That was a terrible scene to watch.

How cool would THAT show be to watch!?!?

And to make it REALLY interesting they could throw in Raylan Givens from Justified, Walter White, and maybe the dudes from Sons of Anarchy.

Networks should start doing that. Making "super" shows. I know I'd watch the shit out of it! Somebody contact FX

McNulty and Lester Freemon would take Walt down before Marlo could get to him.

Sparky is gonna get mad at us.

ronnie was always the smart one
my favourite ronnie moment was when shit got real with armadillo and he was like "so he doesnt know who i am?"

Livia Soprano running over Vic as he picks up his morning paper.

If it's Crew vs Crew, then Vic's group would win by far since they're trained killers with heavy weapons.

But if you're talking about using all resources, then the Sopranos crew would win because they've got a lot more people and connections, and would thus last longer.
