Vettori shouldnt compromise at all

He shouldn't, but he will. It might not be the smartest from a sporting perspective, but it gets you favor with the powers that be within the UFC to play ball when they know you're getting a bit of a raw deal, as well as favor with the fans for keeping a main event intact. Calculated risk. If he wins after letting costa weigh heavy, he gets the W and favor. If he loses, he still did the UFC a solid and could earn him future opportunities, or leniency if he hits a career skid.
 
Let’s hope Dick Niaz didn’t start a trend here. Costa is a moron for this shit, when he is part of the main event. Should be some consequences heading Borradingus’ way.

This is not an attempt to have an empty internet argument, I'm genuinely curious as to what makes you better than the two combatants in question. In the real world, you have to have real influence to talk the way you did and avoid a smack in the mouth. That said, what makes you superior?
 
Costa doesn’t want to fight, or he wants a major advantage. Seems like he is not even trying to cut weight, then waits a few days before the fight to advise everyone?

Vettori should get a W if he wins and a NC if he loses. He should also get about 50g from Costa’s purse.

I was not rooting for either fighter but I hope Vettori survives the first 2 rounds and beats him down late after this cheapshot tactic.

I don't agree, Martin should get a bump in pay which the ufc will give him to keep this event alive.

He can then take Costa to later rounds and eek out a victory.

Costa is probably in bad shape due to not being able to cut weight, or he's in late stage pregnancy.

It should remain at MW and if he wants to fight it can be minus 20% of his purse he already cried about being too low.

Yeah, what's Marvin gonna do? Smoke some weed and get carried away with munchies? I'm sure it's a tempting option here, but like ts stated, Marvin earned being in fight shape. So he shouldn't have to sacrifice his cardio like that. So while I would like it to somehow be fair, even a catchweight screws Marvin. I think the best case scenario for this fight would be to replace Costa and force him up to 205 if he ever misses weight again.
 
I actually agree, except for the fact that he would then be on Uncle Fester's shit list for not fighting. Dana doesn't like it when fighters don't fight, even in this kind of situation.
 
I still think Vettori can beat him Costa turned into a coward after izzy humiliation. Didn't fight Whittaker because of "pay". Only signed up for Vettori after he was called out multiple times. Signs to fight Vettori for the same pay, now isn't making weight so it's going too be less pay then ever. I bet Costa is the one who turns down the catchweight (195/200/205) and says he wasn't going to give up 30% of his pay.
 
Vettori shouldn't take the fight at 205. I have a feeling Costa gets a highlight reel KO with that kind of weight advantage he has. If he says he is 211 he might really be around 225 and will cut to make 206

Also Costa thinks coming out and saying this early might get Vettori to agree to 205 and he wont gst a 20% purse cut like Nick didnt
 
Honestly if they just do catchweight at 195, I don't see the downside for Vettori.

He hasn't begun the worst of the cut, which is really just the final couple days. So if he agrees to 195 today, I can't really see how it hurts him.
 
This fight seems similar to the lead-up to Diaz vs Lawler 2, with Costa taking on the Diaz role.

He’s mentally not in this, and the fact he’s coming in overweight is a red flag. I wouldn’t be surprised if Costa gets finished.

Its not guaranteed for everyone,but in this case I think they would pay Marvin because this is an exceptionally unprofessional move by Costa
