He shouldn't, but he will. It might not be the smartest from a sporting perspective, but it gets you favor with the powers that be within the UFC to play ball when they know you're getting a bit of a raw deal, as well as favor with the fans for keeping a main event intact. Calculated risk. If he wins after letting costa weigh heavy, he gets the W and favor. If he loses, he still did the UFC a solid and could earn him future opportunities, or leniency if he hits a career skid.
